Who is looking forward to Saturday

Recommended Posts

So, both Fleet fans & Shots fan will be combing the area for a pre match pint then ? and presumably all turning up at the turnstiles at 11.50 ? Hmmmmm .....great move !

I know that common sense is not welcome in today's society but maybe, just maybe, having moved the KO time to 12 ( and do we have a list of the reasons for so doing ?) it would have been advantageous for the Police/Council/Gordon Brown/Will Brooks or whoever makes the rules in this Borough, to allow the Fleet bar to open one hour before kick off so that the home fans can turn up a get a couple of pints in and get their a*ses through the turnstiles & thus leave the Shots fans to get a beer in in one of the local hostleries ?...or is that too simple ?

Answers on a postcard please !! Tesco's for a cheap can of Stella anyone ?

Cheers,

I take it the club bar cant just be opened 11am for people to meet, serve non alhoholic drinks ?

ARe Under 18's allowed in there ?, I have 2 in tow this weekend.

In the FA Cup, replays have to be a week on Wednesday to allow notice to the police. In the good old days in was the first Wednesday as in the Trophy. Would be good if we could get some sort or arrangment where ticket info and kick off times HAD to be published 7 days before the KO. Maybe wishful thinking.

The possibilty of playing Aldershot in the semi at home was known on the Monday after the Burton away game, yet it took a full week before the announcement came out. By the nature of our club, many fans have to travel and plans have to be made. Some might say its hard luck, but tell that to the guy who lands at 11am on Sat having flown in from Ireland. Rant over.

In answer to your question,

God yes I am looking forward to it, despite the very early alarm clock call :-)

They're not keeping pigs in the toilets again are they? Why can't they just buy their bacon from Tesco like everyone else...

The licence permits opening from 13.00, so we'll miss half-time too although apparently there was a "hint" last night so might be just strolling past the bar on the day.

An application for an extension to the opening times has to be made 10 days in advance, so they didn't get chance. Nothing the club or anyone can do about it now, it's the law.

I asked if it might be opened earlier for soft drinks but the nice woman I spoke to didn't seem to think it very likely.

Like Hirsty says, going to be even more people roaming the streets, crazy decision.

When you do get in Yorkfox, they seem ok with accompanied Under 18's in there.

There was a 'rumour' about the kick-off times HERE , but I agree - would have been nice to have some decent notice!

It has to be the Coopers really as the Plough will more than likely be full of shots fans.

Some of us do live in Gravesend Jeffers......so wandering into town prior to kick off seems the best bet ( I was only joking about Tesco's, but if needs must & all that !!.....it's been done before....Wembley 1993 ....Sainsbury's in Kingsbury !!)

For future reference, and a request to our new masters, would it not be beneficial to review the club license requirements to avoid disappointment, and loss of revenue, on other occasions ?

Cheers ( or not as the case may be !)
