Man of the Match v Salisbury

It was 1 of 3 people for me, maybe 4 with Hawkins clearing the danger quite a lot. Hard to tell over the radio, so Cronin, Long, Chukki or Hawkins for me.

Please cast your votes, the guys who went to the game at

I'll go for Jimmy Logie please. Seeing how I wasn't born when Jimmy played for the Fleet I feel that I'm well placed.

To be honest for me it is a toss between Peter Hawkins and Chukki for me. Hawkins had a solid game and maybe we are starting to see what Chukki can really do. Would of been nice if he got his hat trick. On another note I am slightly concerned at the poor attendance tonight which will no doubt bring out the snide comment from the Dartford lot.

"Poor attendance" is an understatement - 3 big factors tonight, I suspect being important Champions League games on TV, Charlton at home to top of the table Bristol City, and the outside temperatures. Not valid excuses for your real Ebbsfleet supporter, but for those not fully committed to our level of football, 3 easy excuses not to attend.

I guess another reason may be that non season ticket holders are saving their pennies for Saturdays game (and may be picking and choosing games to attend, given that we're at home again next Tuesday against Rushden)

It should also be noted that attendances across the board in the BSP were on the low side tonight (apart from Oxford against Cambridge)

From the Salisbury forum:

Quote:
We all know we're a far better footballing team than Fleet. We all know the Ref stank, and was the biggest homer all season.

Personally, I thought they were a bit sh!t and couldn't see how they'd gone 12 games unbeaten. We rarely got out of second gear and they did nothing for 70 minutes.

Stu - have to disagree about the 'bit sh!t' remark... They were 'very sh!t'. Apart from the last quarter, like you mentioned, they did nothing at all, and it seemed they would have been quite happy to come away with the draw.

Hawkins IMO, I thought McCarthy had a good game. He got a couple of good strong tackles in Early.

Well done for Erribenne on his Two goals, but i still don't have any confidence in him to be a prolific striker, and that he's unlikely to chase for the ball.

Saying that if he continues like he does and goes on a scoring run then i will apologies to the man in person.

Hirsty, his choice of team leaves something to be desired, but not his ability to spot a decent player!

Hirtsy, i thought Sasha was the mutts nuts last night, in a game like last night when it was in the air a lot!! he got to 99% of all his balls and covered others in set piece plays.

Also last night did anyone else notice we had some new set plays from free kicks, which leads me to think if we learn new set plays and they are being filmed for myinternerd won't teams we will be playing be able to watch them??? Or will it be clever editing.

I thought Chukki deserved it. I thought it was one of his best, if not the best, all-round performances in a Fleet shirt. Sasha was a close second.

I dont agree that they were rubbish, from where I stood we were pretty much on the back foot for most of the second half and were a bit panicky and had they scored earlier I could see a second coming. Having said that after they scored we did see out the last ten minutes pretty well.

Ref was OK, spent a lot of time talking to the players but a mention for the lino on the non main stand side, who wasn't afraid to stick his flag up for infringements that went un-noticed by the ref unlike most.

All in all great 3 points, no obvious injuries (although Lance did stay down for a worringly long time first half) and a good confidence boost ahead of Saturday.

Don't be too hard on the lad Pat...he made the effort to come and watch the game on a cold night, pay £13 for the privilege, bought a few beers & had to get a bus home. Shame more of our own fans didn't make the same effort !!

Cheers,

Couldn't agree more Hirsty...

Yes, I know there are a few home games coming up in quick succession, and money can only stretch so far etc etc...

But really, only 670 (minus the very vocal Salisbury mob!!) is a poor show for a team pushing towards playoffs.
A very generous crowd tho, with 500 tickets for 50/50 sold!

I'm just a little worried that we may lose Sacha to a higher division at the end of the season.

Do we have any more knowledge as to who has signed for next season this includes Liam and Alan?

Great game last night. Did anyone else notice that when Luke fell on top of the guy with the bald head. It appeared to me and my mate that baldie tried to slyly connect with his boot to Lukes nuts. Wouldn,t have found them anyway, it was to bloody cold.
