Just wanted to thank Margate and its fans

I just wanted to thank everyone from Margate for a brilliant match at our ground last Tuesday. As a Wimbledon supporter (and one who travels to most away games) I've seen 29 of our 33 games this season. Whilst I've been impressed with Chelmsford, Billericay and Hendon, the best team I have seen so far are Margate. Last Tuesday you really played proper football and if you hadn't missed three golden chances in the first 10 minutes I believe you would have won. Its not often that a team comes to Kingsmeadow and attacks - not just for the first 20 minutes but for the whole game. Second half we were better and that led to our victory. But it was a great match - the best I've seen at this level for two years. Thank you. I hope we don't have to play you again in the Play Offs, but good luck nonetheless.

Thanks honestdon. Great post. I think all of us who attended were impressed with the standard of football from both sides. Definitely the best I too have seen at this level for some years. Good luck for the rest of the season (except when you meet us in the playoffs of course!).

It was a good game-though not that brilliant as above posts suggest.(maybe clouded as we lost).

 

What i thought was outstanding from both sides was the pace of the game;and ultimately, i think Margate lost as we were not quite as fit as Wimbledon, which gets to you mentally aswell as physically, and leads to errors and lack of concentration.

Thanks Honestdon if all the fans in football were like you there would never be any trouble.Its a breathe of fresh air compared to some of the rubbish we sometimes see on the forum.
