Oh dear, how sad, never mind. I am going to mention the "W" word here so be prepared for a shock....work.....thus earning...thus being able to pay for one's football & beer !! It used to be such a popular idea !

Cheers,

Us older types Hirsty were in full time employment at the age of 15, so get them down the mines, and make them pay full wack I say. bigshock

But they have to wear a cap and gown to gain entry and prove they're not at a mickey mouse college doing a tinpot made-up degree.

I don't get it, when the club is losing money you want to consider lowering the prices. If you want to lower the adult gate price by £3 then you've got to attract another 200-400 through the gate to break even every game, saying you can make it up in other ways is not the point, its unlikely to attract that kind of increase. Nor imo is considering the match day experience as a whole a valid argument until the catering and loos at least are improved.

Creative, cost-neutral, ticketing by all means but dropping the price straight off the bat wouldn't seem to me to be the first priority.....if you want to effectively reduce them just leave them be for a few years (after all you are in it for the long term........)

Fair comment, but going back to my original point, someone in charge of the Finance at the club needs to identify how much the new regime relies on gate receipts ! The outgoing regime relied on it quite a bit I would imagine as there weren't 28,000 plus x £27.50 available. So if all these members subscriptions means that the entrance charge does not have to be so high, then so be it. Don't forget, we are now run by the fans for the fans......or have I missed the point ?

Vis the "experience", agree about the facilities, but that should come with the new ground hopefully ?

Not being a member, I don't have access to all the policies & ideas going forward but is not the idea to make the experience better for the punters, even to the extent of picking the team ?

Cheers,

How much is the charge ? As long as it is not to excessive, is it not better to park in a secure, patrolled car park rather than run the risk of "erberts vandlising your car ? or parking on double yellows & getting a ticket ?

I thought previously ( a few months ago ) people were in favour of such a scheme ?

The security man on the car park entrance last night was telling people that the charge would be £2.00 from Saturday.

I think that that is about right and a worthwhile payment for a bit of security. No more walking back from the game wondering whether your car had been vandalised or not

Oops, just seen that Chatham Gary has confirmed this on a separate thread. Sorry

Slight exaggeration from your pal I think as City's season tickets (the cheapest ones for next season) are £366. This, I should say, is pretty good value for the Championship and the club does really good discounts for the over 60s and over 75s, as well as for Under 21s and Under 12s. Probably one reason why we get 25,000 every week. Now looking at 20000 season ticket holders compared to 8000 in the UEFA Cup season!

No Hirsty, I think this is totally the point and one of the major reasons I joined MyFC. Over the years, as the Safety Officer for the FSA (Football Supporters Association - East Anglian Branch) and as a member of the Norwich City Supporters Consultative Group I have had dealings with Chairman and various structures at football clubs, some of which work and some which don't! It was never my intention to play Football Manager (we've already got a damn good one) but more to see what could be done to keep the Club viable, but also beneficial to the regular supporter. Like Yorkfox, I will happily battle your corner on the other forum to get the best deals possible that supporters actually want - then again so will DA11, Harry J, ChelseaSpencer (aka FleetSpencer)...et al

As someone has starting to do comparisons - WBA have announced pricing for theirs, starting at £299 if bought early. This from a team who 'could' be playing Premie Leaguer next season.

Last season, Aston Villa changed where they stick away fans, and to encourage 'home' fans to use the ex away end they sold season tickets for £200.

Just an evil rumour Pat....she's still clinging onto her shares. By the way, apparently all profits from her new book are going towards a new striker - so that will give Glenn Roeder about £4.60p then.
