Were these for 'any' games? Or could they only be used for specific matches? (The old grey matter isn't waht it used to be!)

I haven't heard of this happening this year tho

I agree with Slarti here... but it is all about perceived value. A Norwich fan at work couldn't believe our prices and said his weren't much more. Most of us (generally speaking) are happy to pay the going rate for our season ticket because it's our team, so we're not really influenced by the fact that a Championship club up the road can offer us a season ticket for not a lot more outlay.

But then you've also got to ask yourself who you're aiming season tickets at? New fans (by that I don't mean MyFC fans, I mean locals who aren't regulars)? I don't think so, they're not really going to be in the market for season tickets for a club they don't support. So your real market is existing fans and lapsed season ticket holders and, as Riverview Supporter has said, that's where you need to offer a package that's attractive financially and offers a little bit more than just 90mins of football every other week.

Personally, I like the option of 30-foot bar exclusively for season ticket holders to order their drinks away from the rest of you queueing rabble and waitress service... wink

One ideas from the other board that is quite unusual but it has quite a lot of support, is for people overseas who know they cant use a season ticket or an 8 match ticket ( for want of a better word ) to buy the ticket and then let the tickets be given to people who wouldnt or couldnt afford to go normally. Its unusual, but an illustration of people supporting the club in very different ways.

Pat, you asked about things from the other place. I will drop a few bits in threads as I think on, I think a seperate thread would get murdered :-) Our board etc.

On April 6th I think it is, Woking, There is a coach being run from Leicester to Stonebridge road at £15 per person. It will pick up at a few other places, I think M11 Cambridge was mentioned. Talk of trying 3 coachs, dont know if its all on the same day. General idea is to get coaches from different regions, not all on the same game. I know they want to try to do something locally too. I have a strong feeling for doing something for away trips from Kent, it might come , I will keep picking away at it.

Anyway, Season Tickets ?

Ah, you not changed your picture on here?

The overseas thing is interesting.

How would these tickets be distributed?

Obviously anyone who goes anyway will not get them.

Christiano Blanco, is there anything that you could do to shift them to locals through work?

Maybe work some son/dad combo out with local schools.

Give them a special ticket which means that they get looked after while in the ground. A special bit of the main stand maybe?

I know a guy who works for Kent County Council dealing with kids who have various educational problems. I think he is already involved with EUFC in some way in this capacity, but could always tap him up to place a few tickets too.

Yorkfox.

We are not going 'off topic'.

We are having a discussion about how to make use of a potential increase of sales from season tickets to foreign MyFC members who, in turn, donate the ones that they will not use to the local community. This will therefore increase the attendances and hopefully, the people benefiting from the generosity will return paying from their own pocket.

On and off topic does not really exist here.

It's all [****!!****] as Hirsty might say.

Enter stage left !!!

Pretty much agree with Stu M ( I think it was him anyway ?).

However, assuming that the new owners have someone in charge of Finance ( Mr B ? ), how much revenue are you antipating ( or rather needing ) from gate receipts to keep the club functioning without making a loss. Or are we/you/they/whoever, awash with cash now that gate receipts are of a lesser importance ? If this is the case, then it brings Riverview Supporter's arguement into play about the overall cost or the "experience"

As Stu said, I think the £13 is about average for Conference Footie these days. We can't do much about bar prices unless someone subsidises it as £2.80/£2.90 is also about par for a pint

here these days ( unless you drink in The Somerset !!).

Cheers,

Hirsty, your point about basically, how much gate revenue do we need is a good one. Without such figures, we are working in the dark here. But based on Riverviews and others 10-5-1 idea, a starting point for discussion ccould be.

Adult Admission £10

Junior ( over 8 , under 16 at time of purchase ) £5

Senior ( Over 60 at Time of purchase ) £5

Under 8's when with an adult . £1

Man Stand Transfer to seats, £2 Per Game.

FA Trophy, all pay at 10-5-1

Setanta & Kent Cup. 5-3-0

Visually and disabled with a local authority parking permit, or something similar. £5

Visually or disabled Carer with a disabled Person. Free.

Adult Season ticket ( £10 x 23 , less a bit ) £200

Junior. £100

Under 8. Free if purchased with an adult ST.

Main Stand Seats ST. £300 ? to be worked out.

New Flexable 8 game Season Ticket ( 8 x £10 ) £70 / £75

---

Overseas supporters can buy tickets at the above price for the tickets to be available for distribution to local kids, adults etc at a way to be worked out. Maybe a group of local fans can work out ways to get tickets to people who may have missed out in the past.

Any overseas supporter who buy a ticket and donates, can receive 2 free tickets for a game if they attend a game. Once per season. Anybody who donates ST Tickets and then flys in, deserves a small reward.

On the other forum, there is a desire to encourage donations to the club. If new prices as above are seen as being generous to fans, then donations could be encouraged, IF people want to, totally volentary.

Donations could go into various funds at the choice of the doner,

eg

Youth Players Development & support Fund.

To try and give the young players a better deal and maybe make us more attractive to good players.

Ground Development Fund.

To help finance small improvements as and when needed. Eg Bar redo, other things to be decided.

Transport Fund.

Money to help subsidise travel to away and home games, also local ? , to try and improve the numbers travelling.

and maybe.

A new ground fund ? . If we get a new home, I am sure cash will always be needed for extra bits.

==

I am sure I have missed loads of things, but maybe we can work from here. One practical thing, if we had 10-5-1 , how do the £1 kids pay to physically enter the ground.

The above figures could be considered also using 12-6-1 , and prices adjusted accordingly.

Sounds reasonable to me, providing we will get enough revenue ( from whatever source) to stop making a loss. The Full Season Ticket prices can be calculated accordingly ( with the appropriate discount of course !).

There is always the arguement that if the prices are cheaper ( especially for families ) then more people would be encouraged to attend, so therefore gate receipts may even increase.

Cheers,

Cheers Hirsty.

I would hope that after we have chewed it over a bit, we can put this forward as a proposal article to the other place. I note this morning that some points from here last night are getting mentioned in the debate started on the mYFC board about the £75 ST, so our views are getting heard a little.

Ideally, I would like to credit people on here at the end of the article as contributers to it, whether they are MYFC members or not. Maybe people could either post or PM me if they are ok with their name being included. How about "The Focus Group " :-)
