Season Tickets 08-09 views ?

Recommended Posts

In an article posted today on the other forum, it was said that the pricing policy for Season Tickets and Match Day Admission would have to be decided in the near future.

What do you consider good about the current Season Ticket Prices ? , what can be improved, How would you price it ?

Is the £13 Adult entrance price correct for next year ?

How would you do it differently ?

One thing that was mentioned a while back is a flexable season ticket aimed at people who want to attend a fair number of games but can not attend the majority for various reasons, eg distance.

Personally, I would like that type of ticket for say 8 league games in a season for say £90 ish ?

My opinion is that the club has to look at the whole package the occassional supporter gets.

£13 to get in

£2.50 Programme

£3 Burger

A pint at £3 (dont drink in bar so may be wrong)

And its easy to spend over £20

It has been proven that people count there expenditure in notes. Hence in the supporters eye , the day has cost him £30 )in realiy £22 t0 £25). The whole day should cost less then £20. If the club can support it financially , £10 to £11 should be the entry price.

Punter goes home having spent £20 and is a hppy bunny

I think it would be good, and possibly a first, if via this forum we could try to get a general agreement of what a fair value season ticket would be, both to the fans and the club.

Members here, who are members there could then put forward a proposal for season tickets, or atleast have a good idea of what we think would be good practise, to influence other peoples proposals.

A full blown season ticket is no good for me as I'm working when midweek games are on - I can only get to the ground on Saturdays, so the 8 match ticket does sound good but it need to be competitively priced - around £9 - £10 per game seems reasonable to me.

A dont want to side track this thread before it gets started, but Riverview talked of the whole package, so maybe that needs to taken into account.

Another decision will be catering. Is it still to be contracted out or done in house ?

Am sure the price thing gets discussed on a fairly regular basis - and as far as I can recall, £13 seems to be a higher amount than people want to spend.

The solution? Season tickets bring that down to about £10 per game, but involves the lashing out of over £200 (and whatever multiples people have to consider!!)

The flexible 'mini' ticket is a good idea, pricing for this would need to be worked out accurately. A lot of clubs have 2 prices, with tickets on the day generally being a couple of quid dearer than those bought in advance. I am not sure if this would affect the casual fan, but its an idea.

Riverview Supporter makes a valid point about the whole 'package' cost - it's often higher than he lists - food is often burger & chips as well as a hot drink, therefore doubling his £3 estimate, add in a quid or two for the 50/50, more than one drink at the bar (half-time and full time) and the cost soon goes up.

The £10 ticket would be ideal - no need for a huge supply of coins at the turnstile either! But can EUFC afford it? Or would the reduction in price INCREASE the amount of casual fans? Bearing in mind that any matchday ticket reduction would have to be repeated across the season tickets also.

Might also be worth looking at the cost of the Main Stand season ticket prices, the 'end' nearer the away fans always seems to be more empty than full. Is this reserved for away fans? Maybe it could be (at a premium?)

"Catering" is pushing the boundaries of the word - but its a contracted deal, "Sevenoaks Catering" is the name on the price lists

Pat, Season tickets may get talked about a lot, but a decison will be made in the near term about prices. The more reasoned views we can get into the process to fix prices, the better I think. This could be the way to do things. Things are going to change, make sure you get your views in quick and accurately. Dont have to be a member, just have people who are in possession of good opinions from people, and get them in quick.

Catering, I read it that it was open to change , but no word was given as to how long their present contact was.

YF, it wasn't meant as a dig about the thread - Its actually is a topic that most people have a lot to say about, after all what isn't spent on the ticket can be spent on beer!
Since you are one of the few 'in the know', as you can cross into the Dark Side, you could put some feedback from there into here - so its possible to know where the discussion is going...

There was lots of talk about it months ago when we had nothing else to talk about and we chewed things over again and again. Today a thread was started quoting the success Bradford City had had by lowering season tickets and getting about 13,000 Season Ticket Holders. The thread talked about making season Tickets £75. A guy then commented that it was scary that such a proposal could get support, it wouldnt need much to go to a vote, maybe as little as 150 people.

That is why I started a thread here to get a good sensible set of ideas that we could put together and then take it back to the other place.

I didnt take it as a dig btw, just that I was saying that this talk is for real, not theoretical.

Who else on here who is a member of the other place would put their name to a joint "Focus Proposal" for Season Tickets ?

I think we could do a good one.

I hope in time people will see MYFC as a mechanism to use to our best devices to help the club.

Are you Kofi, are you Kofi, are you Kofi in disguise?
grin

The Taj doing the catering is a genius, if potentially fattening idea.

The Chef to the Stars, charismatic journolist and friend of the Fleet would surely be able to do it.

They would need to improve their cooking times though as I have waited hours in the Taj before.

There should be a discount or may be a freeze on prices if bought before April.

Also the age of the concession ticket needs sorting as no one at the Club seems to know what it is! The website does not state an age. It says OAPs that provide a bus pass as evidence. Well you get a bus pass at 60. However the concession price for normal entry on the gate sign is now 65!

I know of a number of people that have concessionary season tickets all under 65. When they applied they all supplied birth certificates.

I propose we set it at 60 and avoid any further confusion.
