Wivenhoe sign...

That's a top signing but goodness knows how much they're paying him.

McKinney must be on some to go from Conference to Chelmsford to Wivenhoe. Would be interesting to know if they paid money for him too because he must've been on a contract at Chelmsford.

According to the Echo they are also after striker Martin Tuohy from Great Wakering.

I wouldn't bet on it.According some people on that Eastern forum, who hate that RC in charge at Wivenhoe,he did the same thing at Diss Town and another Ridgeons club that i can't remember.Apparently Diss Town wage bill last season was £ 74000 and they signed nearly 50 players, only to sack the fella when he was trying to pull them out of trouble. The reason, always according these Ridgeons gossips was that his CRB checks were not up to scratch...He is the most hated person in that Ridgeons premier and no club would give him a job after those experiences.Again,he has inherited all that money from some relative who died and is using some of it to play with the toy even if his football know- how ain't that great. Now take all of this with a pinch of salt:it's only things that i have been reported but hey..credit to the guy..he's putting the money where the mouth is! grinI hope is a nice ending story....but what they say? After 2 comes 3....relegations!To me is third time lucky! biglaugh

I think McKinney was released by Chelmsford and played for both AFC Hornchurch and Heybridge Swifts before signing for Wivenhoe

Yeah read all about Wivenhoe`s manager when he first went there, he seems to have upset plenty of people in recent times.

I still think that their current spending is just to avoid relegation which they will probably do and players like Purser will not be involved next season.

Merely reporting things from another forum Uncle. It's there for all to see matey. The RC post on that forum had hundreds of replies, including the worst one from one of the administrators that simply hated the fella. And now please, could you leave us alone...this is the Canvey forum grin

Surely they'd be better off if they were relegated. Or, at least, no worse off. There are quite a few clubs in the Ridgeons that get decent attendances, most of which are more local to them than clubs in our league and they'd probably be able to compete. But then, what do I know?
