After a few weeks of negotiations Kane Hemmings has finalised a move to Birch TC in the Thanet Sunday Football League. After not getting enough games for Margate under 18s, he feels this is the right move for his career.

Some of you lot have a very low opinion of local footballers obviously.

Top club are an up and coming sunday prem side so playing against tougher bigger more physical players may benefit him. A good move Kane. Prove these people wrong matey.

Paul do you play for Hotel DE Ville ?

 

I refereed them last week, was quite a good game, you lost 4-1 to Ramsgate Rangers.

Yeah I play for them but we played Nottingham castle last week and lost 3-2. We lost to Ramsgate Rangers the week before 3-2. We're you the ref for that? They were both good games but we have a problem scoring goals. We've conceded the least in the league but our strikers are useless.

My point was that the vast majority on this forum have played Sunday League football I would think,(apologies to the ladies for a sexist comment) but never progressed further than that, when you are at a good set up which it appears Margate now have, it is a retrograde step to return to a windy Jacky bakers or Garlinge. If he does make it i will be one of the first to congratulate him.

I think you will find that many of the 18's play for Top Club. I was gonna join them at the start of this seasos but after playing for Victoria stores last season and getting injured at the end I decided that a step down to a lower league team with ambition was a good move.
