Help Needed

Morning guys, I have just taken over as website editor of http://www.ebbsfleetunited-mad.co.uk/ and need help.

I am looking for a local supporter to help me run the site, I am attending the game this weekend at Northwich so anyone wishing to discuss what plans I have for the website are more than welcome to chat over a beer or two.

A couple of my friends run the Rotherham United website Millersmad and have a very close relationship with the club, managers and players and often have some great articles on the website.

For each hit the website gets, I as editor earn funds - I am committed to handing over 100% of this in form of sponsoring players etc....Obviously the more hits the better.

So far at the moment (having taken over 2 weeks ago) I have taken the site from less than 10 hits per day! To an average at the moment of 700.

I feel that with the help of this community and also the membership of MyFC I am setting a target of 5,000 hits per day by the end of March. To achieve this, as already mentioned I need close links to news happining within the club, and the support of the fans.

The website is an additonal website for people to use rather than a replacement. Please let me know your thoughts, and if possible let me know what you would like to see on the site that will help towards that target I have in mind of 5,000 hits per day by the end of next month.

So, please pop along and have a look around. As already mentioned each hit earns money for the club, I have placed a link on the homepage that counts the number of unique visitors the site has per day. This was placed on the site Sunday and the site was in 384th position, as it stands today it is in 214th. My target is to get the site in the top 50 by the end of March.

Many thanks for reading, and please as much feedback on the site as possible, and please I need help in achieving my targets of 5,000 hits per day and a top 50 ranking on soccerlinks.

a deafening silence greeted this post so I will ask the questions that need asking...

is this a new forum instigated and edited by moonie HQ....

if so its not surprising that the hits have increased dramatically as on day one hardly an bvgga knew about it..

why another website...whats wrong with the one that exists and perhaps the MyFc web team having an input...after all they get paid enough do they not......

does/will the new website replace the old one and will MyFc as owners of ebbs seek to close the original independant one or seek to make it unofficial....

just asking.... no offence meant to gazza... laugh

Hi Uncle - AT LAST - Questions.

Some answers...

Its nothing new - the 'MAD' brand has been a round for a while now. If you look at other teams sites they are all similar, basically you have a 'back office' that allows you to update articles, put on polls etc....There are quite a few areas disabled at the moment.

Your right about the hits increasing - that can only be a good thing. I want it to continue - it is not branded as MYfc, and never will be - its a site names Ebbsfleet.

Why another website? Why not just shop at Tesco, Morrisons, Asda ect....sometimes a shop 'website' may be in a layout that suites some more than others. The site will never take over the offical site - its a site where its the fans views and not dictated to by the club.

The 'hit' bonus gets paid to me, I then spend this cash as I see fit. My friends that run the Rotherham site sponsor players kits...buy tickets to run competitions etc....ALL the cash will go to the club, and not to MYfc.

Yes I live in Yorkshire, yes I follow Rotherham and yes im a member of the MyFC.

No offense taken whatsover. As you can see from the 'yes' answers - I need help with local fans, who know their club inside out.

Up to 185th in the charts now thanks to yesterdays surge in hits, lets have another 20 place jump today please guys.

I'm going to the match today so I will post my review when I get in - terms of the website is no photo's are allowed on the site so I will put the same article on here - but with photo's.

There seemed to be loads of hits to this thread yesterday but only one person asking the questions.

Please ask away if you have any - I really want to get the site going and need your help. I can't learn the history of the club overnight and need the help of the ones who understand what it means to be following this current club.

Until the help comes along, I will try my best to make the site fun.

For starters, what will make you use the site daily?

What money are we talking about here?

Say you acchieve your goal of 5K hits per day..what amount would that result in being available to invest in EUFC?

I think your initiative deserves applauds..but I am not good with those smilies figures..so I just write it in plain text!

I am very interested in seeing some more investment being made into the EUFC youth sector, and possibly also into the Ebbsfleet ladies team.

Are you able to decide where the "hitmoney" goes to..so to speak?

If so,would you consider the youth sector of EUFC and/or the Ebbsfleet ladies?

Should add...

Ebbsfleet youth sector and/or Ebbsfleet ladies team are areas where a pounds investment will have a significantly greater impact compared to if it is invested in the EUFC squad.

EUFC squad will be a highly priority area anyway through the MyFC money..so the impact would be greater in the youth sector and/or Ebbsfleet ladies team.

It would also be nice..I think..if you were able to cover youth sector and Ebbsfleet ladies on the site via articles and news and such.

I think they both would benefit from having a louder voice so to speak..and Ebbsfleet mad site could provide some needed platform for that perhaps?

Thanks for the feedback Claudius, under the contract I have with MAD i can not talk about figures openly. If there is a co-editor then they will know the figures anyhow. So hopefully when a local fan jumps on board with me they will know the figures.

In regards where the money goes, I have final say. I don't want to get into voting on this and that - I do that with MYfc...this is about what the FANS of Ebbsfleet want and not what MYfc want.

The sections regarding Youth and Ladies, I will update on the site tonight when I get back from the match.

If you can speak with people who have the low down on these two teams and ask if they want to get involved, then that would be a great help.

THANK YOU in your positive feedback.

Reall need the help of one of you local peeps to review the matches please.

Now averaging 1,000+ hits per day and up to 154th in the soccer site links table.

Will keep asking for help until I get it guys, great result yesterday and really hope you all get a Wembley visit.

Not missed an England game since it opened, and there is not a bad seat in the house (actually I like the seats up in the gods rather than close to the pitch).
