To be fair, though, if you're a Bees fan you don't want anyone else to know about it and under cover of darkness seems the perfect time to watch them.

Either that or getting hammered in the Bowers Bar during the day seems the best preparation of supporting Basildon.

I think it may have something to do with the Boxing day kick off time. They wanted us to move it and we didn't so maybe this is a little attempt at revenge but to be honest it has done Hickey and me a great favour as we both can get family stuff out the way in the daytime.

Correct me if im wrong isnt the gordon braxted final between eton manor and concord rangers on the same day it might have something to do with that game kicking off at 15-00pm.

Hookey - let me put an end to this right now!!

On Boxing day your lot stopped me going to visit my family for dinner by insisting on firstly having the game on Boxing day and then having a 1.00pm kick off.

I thought if any of the supporters had children, family they could spend the day with them on the Monday eat a few eggs, etc visit the seaside and then turn up for an evening game at Bowers all refreshed and ready without the missus voice ringing in their ears about going to football again!!.

Also unlike your lot we dont get the bar takings so are not reliant on these fixtures to gain a few extra quid to spend on players who leave after 2 games.

unlike at yours on boxing day this time will suit everyone and at least the main body of the committee will be about unlike at yours. Even your secretary couldnt be bothered to turn up.

The League sort the fixtures out not me so switching it was not an option.

Also how many players shall we bring this time 7 or 8 pointless bringing the full quota (lol)

Right Talede you miserable sod, now you know referring to BUFC as "Your Lot" is looking for a munch up, so I'll oblige. cheeseburger

By referring to the Boxing Day KO time of 1:00pm, you are practically admitting you are doing it out of revenge/spite. BTW, I don't know anyone at Basildon Utd (Management or players that is) who wanted a 1:00pm KO on Boxing Day. I believe Dave C insisted on it as he thought it would improve bar takings!!!!

The reason I'm upset about a 7:45pm KO on Easter Monday is because unlike your good fortunate self, who may well get to spend a day at the seaside with the family enjoying an ice cream or two, I am more likely to spend the day having my @rse dragged around every f**king garden centre in Essex from Romford to Colchester!!! mad

Nice crack about only taking 8 players, I just hope that remark doesn't come back to bite you, or is it us, on the @rse; grin

Boycie, you Tom Selleck in Magnum PI wannabe, how the devil are you?

So you have a football club with a bar/function suite and you don't get the money?? doh So who does?

Is Bowers & Pitsea like the Vange & Pitsea WMC which is a social club with a darts section, football section, snooker section etc.

I thought that Bowers United FC bought the ground and built the buildings with the proceeds of the sale of the former ground (swallowed up by the A13 bypass) in the early 1970s. Therefore they own the bar and hence the takings of the bar! If not, somewhere along the line, Bowers United FC and its successor seems to have been shafted.

Please explain. grin

this is correct. but I dont want to get into that its a private matter between the club and the social (lol)

i meant regarding the players shall we just turn up with 8 save the referee sending them off beforehand, as if I would take the p**s out our friends from down the road.

The way we are playing at present you'll win about 1-0
