I have been away all season so have been following the club's fortunes from afar. Reading Jim's decision to resign was sad, but there was a sense of the inevitable.

 

Looking at what Jim has achieved, both on and off the pitch, in the 6 years he has been in charge, shows what a tough job it is going to be for his successor. He has taken a club from scratch and, using his contacts and consierable knowledge of the non-league football scene, made ETFC very successful indeed.

 

I recall way back to when he was successful in his claim for unfair dismissal from the old EFC, and how he very generously donated a significant part of the financial award to the new club. Not many people would have done that. To say nothing of the enormous sacrifice he must have made over the years in terms of family time, choosing instead to spend his time coaching, or watching future opponents, or keeping track of players he felt could improve the existing team. We should be thanking Mrs. Chandler as well as Jim.

 

Thank you for everything you have done for the club since its inception Jim. Your contribution has been immense and you deserve

nothing but praise from all ETFC supporters.

Blimey O Riley you lot have knifed poor old jolly jim in the back for the last 18 months ,Questioning his teams ,tactics ,substitutions etc etc etc and now we have the very same sanctimonious people saying nice things about him . It must be a massive weight off the poor blokes mind to get away from you lot of raving idiots. Whoever takes over will need a stab proof vest and have eyes in his ar$e where you cliqueys are concerned.

Man From Mars I've often wondered exactly what planet you are on but for once you've hit the nail slam bang smack on the top of it's head. Jim Chandler was the greatest thing ever to happen to the Towners and this is how they treat him. Luckily the new manager has a thicker skin and won't tolerate know-it-alls like Lovely stuff pontificating on his tactics.

Soppy.Some fans are prepared to accept comfortable mediocrity,and years of treading water going nowhere.Others demand success and 100% at all times from anyone involved with their club.Maybe thats the real difference between us and those at certain other clubs.
