I made the trip to Stonebridge Road last night and the crowd did seem more than the announced figure, mind you after many years going down to there, I know it is hard to guage the amount of people in the ground. Support for the Fleet was excellent, and nearly everyone stayed until the end. :-)

It's a myth, Kenny. There was only 4098 against Canvey. I counted.

Clearly more than 841 - granted there were only a few NCBA massive there but other areas of the ground were well populated.

I would have said between 1000 - 1100.

I know, but my point was, we underdeclared the gate that night - even Brian Kilcullen hinted at that in the programme a couple of weeks ago.

It could have been an administrative error, forgetting the clicks on 1 turnstile. Perhaps the gate receipts will give a truer reflection of the gate after they have been counted.

That's never actually been in doubt, but of course the reason was that the capacity of the ground at that time was 4,098.

Now whatever the cause of last night's [****!!****]-up, it's a less than auspicious start for the new administration.

I was there that night when 4,098 were supposedly in the ground for the crunch game with Canvey, we were packed in like sardines then, and the rumours were that the crowd was nearer 5,000. What a season that was, and I was at Bedford Town the day the Fleet won the league. Ok, I have drifted away a little as I sold my house in Gravesend and moved to South East London but I still try and follow the team, and I have posted on here for a few years even if infrequentely.

If you check the timing (1.10 am) and the location (somewhere up towards the middle of the country) Hirsty you will realise that the actual epicentre was Nigel Cloughs front door when he got home last night.

Rolf Harris is going to do an animal hospital special on the Clough cat that got a good kicking at 1.12 this morning.
