Abingdon certainly aren't doing great at the moment, but a 12 point advantage over Bracknell means they probably aren't worried yet

I'm just hoping no-one gets carried away by Saturday's results. Defeat against Godalming would be a real setback if Bracknell win, plus they still have 2 games in hand.

I personally don't think we can join the group of clubs you mention, but if we consistently pick up points in the coming weeks we give ourselves a good chance of survival.

No reason why we can't win on Saturday, so let's hope it's not another false dawn like AFC Hayes was following Farnborough.

have to agree with that assessment chris, the similarity is there with other clubs too, when oxford utd dropped out of the league their fans after 20 games on top of the conference started chanting 'we are unbeatable and we are going to win this tinpot league the reality a year later is getting knocked out of the fa cup by tonbridge angels. clubs cant survive on past glories and the sooner they forget the snobery and belief that we are too big a club to be in this league the sooner they will rise up the league again. When yo thinkof teams like Enfield who were once the best of non- league teams and now playing county football.

teams playing us are of course wanting to beat stfc.

now we begin to fight for our lives.

Its a mystery. We (Boro) have gone something like 9 games without defeat and in the Semi Final of the league cup and the fans are still not returning. If you got some spare fans when you are not playing you are certainly welcome here, especially the Ex Boro fans still following you. Best of luck for the rest of the season we really hope you stay up.

Fans will find other ways to occupy their time. They invariably aren't sitting there waiting to be tempted back. They'll have found other things to do and, over time, will wonder why they were so keen to travel half way across the country on a wet Tuesday night just because they HAD to be there.

Once you've lost them they may never come back and more often than not it isn't to do with anything as simple as winning and losing.

Which is why there has to be a constant push to attract youngsters to watch the game. We've had a good few promotionals with Slough youth teams this season, but i think its something that should be built on, with free tickets to schools etc.

It must be very frustrating for Hillingdon, especially after getting to the Vase final a couple of years back. Maybe they would have picked up a few more regulars if it had been at Wembley?

I know Havent are trying to learn from the Yeading FA Cup experience, where after the Newcastle game, crowds hardly rose and they ended up merging with Hayes(the result of the merger- an extra 20 fans a week!) They let everyone who went to Liverpool in free for one game, resulting in a crowd of 2,000.
