Thoughts on who should partner Akinde.

Can some of the local fans, who get to the games, state who they think should partner Akinde up front? It seems as though Moore and Nade are the preferred options right now, but Eribenne also has some supporters.

Has anyone had an effective partnership with Akinde, or do you even believe that Akinde shouldn't be a first choice forward?

Whats your thoughts?

Is this to help you select the team for Liam?

If it is, think again.

Why should we do your dirty work for you?

Nothing personal, but non members are 100% against MYFC choosing the team.

I don't mind you 'owning' the club, but the manager/coach must pick his team.

I'm sure Liam knows who makes up the best striker partnership.

If MyFC members create a vote to allow Liam to pick his own team, and it is passed, I.m sure every non member will be more than happy to discuss the merits of each player.

Daish will have to see when Akinde needs a rest.

Undoubtedly,he will need some somewere down the line, but the timing for that will be for Daish to see..and IF MyFC is picking the team at that point,I cannot see the membership not following Daish recommendation.

He was MOTM against Crawley I guess, then perhaps two slightly less impressive performances.

My gut feeling, without seeing the team..is that Eribenne is the one with most current potential(after Akinde). Then again, this is just a feeling and nothing to take any notice of.

Not the first time I have heard that comment since Saturday, Yorkfox! However - 'Big' John has turned into a player Fleet depend on up front... Maybe the question should be who plays when Akinde isn't?

With now having to play 2 games per week (generally) until the end of the season, squad rotation for the whole side not just the strikers, must be in Liam's mind. This makes the concept of MyFC members selecting the team even more impractical unless there is a "leave it to Liam" button.

Dont want to get into the big team picking thing again, but what I would say is that this means that Liams thoughts before picking a team will be vital here. If he suggests something like resting a player, or maybe a keeper in a Kent cup match, I am sure many will take his lead. If we just get 16 names and are told to pick 11, it wont be as accurate.

It will be 2 games a week until the end of the season now - we only have 1 free midweek -Tues 11th March. If we dont get through tomorrow, we'll need to fit in the KSC game against Margate, while if we do get through, we will need to move both Rushden at home and Halifax away as well as having the Margate game. As Halifax already have a game on 11th (v Torquay), it looks like it will be the Rushden game on 11th March (although thats set aside for Setanta Shield and Rushden are still in that, so may not be free that day)

David, your comment about John has resonated with me.

You say that he looked knackered. I agree with this.

It may well be right to put him on the bench tomorrow.

However, the MyFCer's in Sweden and Outer Mongolia will not know this information.

According to messages that I have read on the MyFC forum, it seems that people think John is the best thing since sliced bread and that we will get millions for him.

Now, putting that into a team selection thing, I would bet money on Akinde being in the starting line up as most people on there don't seem to rate Nade (not sure how when they have not seen him but hey!)

Don't get me wrong, I rate Akinde bigtime but he is a young and will get knackered. I know that there was a good turnout from the 'owners' (term used loosely) on Saturday but the majority do not atttend matches and therefore, have no real basis or point of reference from which to pick the team.

It's really worrying me.

Jeff, this is where regular fans like yourself need to get you say heard on the board very clearly in the days up to a match. Like if you post he looked tired and is yound, and somebody else follows up, the fans in outer mongolia could take it into account. Like I said above, this is where Liams view and opinions are vital pre selection.

I also have concerns on how the votes will be taken, but maybe have a good go at that on another thread.

I know some will throw up their hands at this, but if a group of people on here , say 20 of the regulars predicted their team before a game, then compare it with Liams, it would be interesting to see how near the average regular fans view would be to Liams. I mean this to happen asap.

This actually concerns me more than letting a herd of people who haven't watched a match select the team.

If Liam has to put this sort of information into a semi public domain then it is a stone cold certainty that it will find it's way to the opposing manager.

"It's alright lads Liam Daish says that Akinde is tired and should be rested so let's work out our stratagy to play against Nade and Eribenne"

Now you may all fool him by putting Lance Cronin up front alongside Ronnie Bull but I somehow doubt it.

This is also a concern.

I would imagine that every manager in the conference has paid up their £35.

I would put John on the bench tomorrow purely to rest him.

Nade has ahd a couple of good outing recently and Chuckkie needs a chance after being dropped at torquay and on the bench Saturday.

John could come on if needed and will of course cause problems for NCBA as he did for a spell in first half Saturday.
