from footballing fan and a non arsenal fan i would like to wish a speedy and succesful recovery from that horrific leg break yesterday, i havent seen anything that savage since David Buust broke his leg in early 90's i have a horrible feeling that this is a career ending injury and sad to see in any sport, however i dont think there was intent but these studs up challenges are becoming all too common in todays game, i have to say i watched the game live and they could not show it and admittedly i wanted to see what all the fuss was about and viewed it(with haste and wish i hadnt) on you tube, i would advise others against it as it did make me feel a little sick, they did screen the tackle on MOTD late last night and made me feel the same. I think taylor will issue a statement at some stage but noone can tell me that anyone in any sport is set out to cause such an injury. Also i think they need to re-look at the design of shin pads as when confronted with a tackle like that the weak points then become the ankle and just below the knee ok i know they are 'shin' pads but breaks like Eduardo's ankle yesterday must be at least tried to be prevented. Football is a high speed game and unfortunately miss timed tackles are unavoidable.

it was a nasty thing to happen. i dont think that taylor set out to hurt de silva,it was just a nasty side effect of premiership football. Its played at a high tempo and there isnt much time to think about what consequencies a missed timed tackle will cause. i hope de silva gets better as soon as he can, i also feel for taylor as the guy must really be feeling like a right wannker now. I hope that one nasty and unlucky incident doesnt ruin two careers.
