Early notification that Hoddesdon won 3-0 at Harpenden tonight, I gather it was a very professional display

He He, no they weren't thank god! Harpenden didn't really cause us much trouble and we could've possibly had a couple more in my opinion with better choices being made in certain areas

Those were Hectors comments to me exactly Cliff, when we chatted at full time. He certainly gets around!!

We also chatted at length about his own career in coaching and management and his plans for where he will be next season. Very interesting stuff!

With regards to tonights game, I agree with NF. Harpenden offered very little in attack and we looked nothing but comfortable at the back. Our keeper had one save to make all game.

On a side note, I felt the ref was poor tonight. No idea of his name so don't ask me but I felt he was too laid back in his approach and wanted the game to run at his pace and not the pace that the two teams wanted it at. How he did not award a penalty to Harpenden in the second half, when Damien Thomas wrecklessly cut down their striker in the box is beyond me. At this point, we were only 1-0 up and that could have changed the game. He let a number of rash challenges go unpunished (most of them committed by Hoddesdon I might add!) and I think Harpenden should feel a little agrieved. Thats not to say we were not worthy winners, as I firmly believe we outclassed them in every department.

Nice to see our young left back Kevin Metivier notching his first goal for the club too!!

Does this now put us top?

I think the sky is the limit for him, have you asked yourself how Kentish Town can attract Coaches of that calibre as it's not just coincidence. What still leaves me shaking my head in amazement though is how Sport London e Benfica could possibly show him the door when he came knocking, you have to question their ambitions.

Jonno, tell us his future plans so that we might arrive at the conclusion why SLB didn't give Hector an opportunity.

Rhodes, if you are confused, I am sorry, but that is just in your nature. Live with it, as it will be with you for a long, long time. smile

I have a copy of his CV and it is as long as your arm to put it mildly, I won't divulge the details without Hector's prior permission but as a taster he has a 'Royal Netherlands FA International Coaching Badge which in Holland of all places aren't two a penny, played at a high level in South America and is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian. Need I say any more.

Special1 - I think you are just jealous. It's plain that you thought this season would be a walk in the park for your team who you hyped up out of all proportion at the start of the season following their elevation from park football at Step 7 to Step 6. It hasn't been as easy as you thought has it, okay you have had one or two good wins such as at Bedford (5-0) and against Winslow (6-1) at home but your season is now all over bar the shouting as you run out of steam.

Jealous? Nah.
I never said it was going to be easy either, otherwise you would have quoted me.
I know the reason why we have not been as competitive this year. But one thing is for sure, now we know what it is all about, I wouldn't rule us out in the future.
Despite your decent result recently, we'll still be playing you next year. smile

Football Man - Harpenden Town don't do themselves any favours, they could and should be a monster in a large football catchment area but don't seem to know how to get back into the Premier Division following relegation in 2005/2006 or how to attract punters, sponsors or half decent players to Rothamsted Park.

It's not for me to reveal Special1 but I can say that it won't be KTFC. "I am using them in the same way they are using me..." is a direct quote.

Jonno - How on earth can Hector be using Kentish Town when he is clearly capable of working at a League Club, possibly as high as League 2 if not League 1, why would he waste his time Coaching at Step 6 level in the SSML without even getting paid.

Rhodes

Just got back from training and had our ex-player Emanuel Clement appearing at our training ground. Sounds like he's claiming one of the goals against Amersham Town for some reason when it clearly states Scott and Donoghue.

Or he's a fool and thinks that I can't find out.

Me thinks the latter.
