End of season stroll?

Hi Kay,

Yes there are plans a-foot, we're working on a route as we speak and have made a decision on this year's chosen charity - Wexham Park Hospital's Leukaemia ward - more details will be available in the trust news letter, which will be out (all things going well) next saturday (1st March).

We think it should be doable in a day provided we set off a bit earlier than normal - we're probably looking at a 6:30-7am start, rather than the 8:30am one last year.

initial estimates from a website i'm using suggest the walk will be around 26 miles... they have a slow, medium and quick walk pace time estimate as well, For fast walkers, they say it can be done in just over 6 and a half hours (that's practically jogging it i think) medium pace walkers could look to do it in 8 and a half hours and slow walkers would need nearly 13 hours.

I'll see if i can get a map out and cut off some corners somewhere to make it a bit easier...

If start is 6 - 6.30 will not be walking this year, as would have to leave home by 4.30 to get there! Having said that suppose coud kip on a floor somewhere, but even so 6am walking!!!! If don't do will def sponsor someone.

here's a link to the site i've been using - not knowing the area very well and not having driven it yet, could anyone suggest if this is viable? and whether or not there's some short cuts we could take?
