If the club didn't have the doers they would have to pay people to work these jobs, ie gates, ball boys, ticket sellers ect. So good will is inportant to a club like Slough not just money.

Agreed, that it is nice to have this 'aired' i would also like to hear others opinions personally as when i am voting for various things would like to echo the views of the fans and notjust vote in the way of 'what i believe is best for the club LONG TERM'.

Money is obviously a touchy issue but i feel (IMHO) more likely to vote 'yes' to giving money to the clubnow, as we do seem to be moving forward, and it seems that the money wouldnt be being wasted down a bottomless pit, as to amounts to give, i have my opinion to what is a correct amount, and would welcome anyone coming to me on match days or PMming here to say what there opinion is.

Hello,

No there wasn't anything new that came up to be honest. The members who were present were given the opportunity to ask the board - Mike and Alan in particular as they've been sat in on a number of meetings - about anything that was concerning or troubling them about the new stadium.

Mike reiterated that the newspaper reporting in the Slough Observer was accurate and stressed the importance for the club, supporters and trust to work together for the promotion of the ground plans.

The next major point will be in three months time, by then Jayne and her team will have presented their plans to the council, which will then be approved or sent back within the following month.

Mike also reiterated how important it was to have Steve Easterbrook onboard as our new chairman and emphasised the amount of time and money he has already put into ensuring the survival of the club.

Mike then asked if there was anyone present who would be willing to put their name's forward for a committee trust who would be in charge of running the stadium. As I understood it, Steve Easterbrook is currently investigating how best to structure this board and how many members will be required.

One assumes that these will include a member of the council, Jayne Bradbury, several members from the football club, the Slough Boxing Club and if they are to be included in the final project, the West Wing. They will also be looking for representatives from the Trust - not necessarily board members.

A question from the floor asked whether we knew how much time would be expected from a stadium trustee, Mike and Chris Sliski explained that Steve Easterbrook was looking into this and would report back when he had a better idea.

Other issues which were mentioned included the possibility of approaching Amir Khan's team to openly support the plans (as a former member of Slough Boxing Association), and confirmation that the £80,000 from the hotel project would be split (though the exact specifications of this were not yet known) between the club and the running of the stadium.

Questions were also raised about the complex itself - whether the car park would be open to use by everyone on the complex, whether the club would have its own bar which was seperate from the rest of the complex and whether there were any plans in place to reduce its carbon footprint.

While none of the answers could be guaranteed due to it being several months before the plans have been finalised, it was expected that the club would have its own profit-raising bar seperate from the rest of the complex and that renewable energy devices (solar panels, turbines) may be difficult to implement, due to the cost, the noise of the turbines and the well-known Not In My Back Yard (nimby) syndrome.

A question from the floor asked what was being done to prevent potential hiccups and stalls in the planning application. Chris and Mike explained that Jayne was doing all she could to prevent problems arising, including speaking to the Olympic Development Committee about using the complex as a place for boxers to train and stay in the run up to the 2012 olympics, thereby dissuading the government from calling the project in - an event which, judging on previous local experiences, could set the project back as much as 15 months.

She has also chosen a building contractor which the council knows and feels comfortable with - they are doing much of the work on the Trading Estate/Segro regeneration.

Sorry that went on a bit - I think i've covered most of what happened last night - there will be a letter by the next home game detailing what happened and providing a few updates on fundraising events and the like.

Charlie
