There are supposedly more than 400 MyFC Kent members as well.

Except for regular fans, others will be unaware the games on. There is not enough time to promote the match really, as our local Tv does not cover Ebbsfleet except for the rare occasion,If they feel it's something to do with the takeover etc, they may give us two minutes or so, but as far a promoting our matches,we are not worthy enough.
Unlike some London clubs they promote. So encouraging a larger crowd at such late notice will be difficult.

Maybe just maybe 28000+Myfc members and the local support could flood the BBC South East news with emails etc to get thing changed!!! just a thought

My only problem Mark is what you said here...

Guess some people are just never happy, and want to find fault with anything they can. Happy f*ckers!!

I think this is quite a pointless argument to be having, me and you appear to be of the same mind. The trouble is someone on this thread said something along the lines of "I read on the MyFC board that they were going to take thousands to the game". You've obviously come back and said that this is not true and that the 300 that were there is still better than nothing. I did take a little offence to this as it sounded like you were saying that this club would be nothing without MyFC. I can understand why you said what you did.

Any "us and them" debate is to be steered well clear of, we are all fans of Ebbsfleet United now.

Agreed, and I now wish I had not said it in this way. I've always gone out of my way to promote the fact that without local fans Ebbsfleet wouldn't be here, and without them in the future, they won't be here. I want MYFC to find ways to encourage more and more local support and a lot of time needs to be put into exploring as many avenues as possible.

From all of the different messages I have read from people who were at the game yesterday, the overall impression is that it seemed like a 50-50 split in old and new fans, but the only real relevence is that the team can only have felt encouraged by seeing a good support for them.

I'm a Derby County fan of a long, long time. Hell, me and a buddy even wrote the clubs official anthem. I know we're [****!!****], very [****!!****] in fact, but that's not the reason why I listen to Ebbsfleet games at 9am (us time) on a Saturday. I listen to Ebbsfleet, because I think I should and quite simply I want to. A fair while ago I became disallusioned with top tiered football, and yet what I see from Ebbsfleet's fans, players, play, and the club in general has helped me find my enthusiasm for the game again; I miss it again. No one knows where this journey will take the club in the long run, it's too unique to suggest we do. All I want to for Ebbsfleet to succeed, to get better, to become a club everyone in the local and MYFC community can become proud of.

Sorry about that Hannah would of talked about it myself but I am more of a post reader than a poster myself.

Overall I thought the game could of gone either way with both teams having their chances. I tell you my heart went into my throat when they hit the post early on. I reckon that Nade did not play all that bad and at least desrved a goal for his efforts. Also Paul McCarthy played a solid game and would of just edged my personal MotM. Also was impressed with the stadium and if Ebbsfleet's new ground was based of any other existing ground I would be most happy if it was based of The Pirelli.

I'm more of a reader too Special K, I just found nothing to read about the game itself.

I too was impressed with Paul McCarthy who I thought had an excellent game and saved us from goin 1-0 down, I thought all of our defenders played solidly even though Hawkins did some risky challenges!

What an exciting game it was to watch despite the 0-0 scoreline! I personally had such a good day up in Burton I want to go to some more away matches.

I am definitely going to the Stevenage game now. Not too sure about the Forrest Green game as I only just realized that it is a Tuesday game. And if it is not a nearby away game it is difficult for me to make weekday away games due to work. Might go to the Droylsden game instead.

And shame that I didn't get to meet anyone from the forums yesterday. Well I may of and not realized it. All I can say is I was on the coach.

Yesteday's match was one of the most entertaining and nerve racking games I've seen for a while... more nerve racking than the Exeter Setanta Shield game.

It was a very even game, it could've gone either way really. We were given a slight scare when Burton Albion hit the post early on, but we got stuck in there, and as far as I'm concerned, we had no man of the match, EVERYONE played extremely well and I went away a happy guy!

Now we have to go through it all again this Tuesday night. So let us all get behind the boys with a big home crowd and lots and lots of noise.

I must say the journey up to Burton went really well, got there in plenty of time for the pub, and good music and football anthems in the car.

Hannah, I think next time you come along with us, bring some drinks along, neon lights and the club music... turn the Scottmobile into a mini-club! grin

I'm sure Kayne will be happy we drew, at least he'll get to see the replay.

I'd also like to thank all the new supporters / co-owners. You guys gave the team great support and even joined in with the singing and cheering. Let's see more and more of it!

All the best to the team on Tuesday night.

COME ON YOU REDS!

Where was you sitting?

Near the back of the coach. I was the one with the woolly hat with the flames on it. Didn't really talk to anyone on the coach other than my friend which is a shame.
