Who's going to the Burton match?

Burton's stadium holds 6000 according to 'The Supporters' Guide to Non-League Football' (www.supportersguides.com) which no NLL should be without.

If all the MyFC numpties who are boasting about going actually do turn up (and don't get lost looking for the nearest Eurostar terminal) it should prove quite a squeeze. Hopefully, all these new supporters will behave themselves and act like proper executives and club owners and not prize prats.

Personally, I could make the match just by nipping down the M6 from Lancs, but I prefer to wait a wee while and choose my first game (perhaps Northwich) after the numpty noise abates a little. smile

They used to post the numbers here Derryman until we laughed them out of it! Any idea of how many they predict?

So my thoguhts after one game

Good cup game - we had 2 early scares including hitting a post but weathered the storm well to be equal by half time.

Second half much better, constant action in the correct goalmouth and came close a few times.

4-4-2 seemed ok for me

Cronin - some excellent saves, some poor kicking as expected and some good kicking.

Centre Halfs - played very well and Smith could have scored a header late on. Smith and McCarthy both made good blocks.

Full backs mainly solid. Hawkins good first half but needless challenge - should have been booked - which he was later. Opinel steady first half - excellent second half.

Back 4 generally though often waited for offside when there was another runner coming through.

Midfield - very good second half including Moore who gave width in the second half. Generally great tackling and chasing.

Nade - good defending near post corners. Had some ideas up front.

Akinde - biggest dissapointment. Seemed lazy and slow. Was a foot taller than his marker and not looking for crosses into the box - or even getting into the centre at all. I'd have taken him off instead of Nade. He didn't realise the wind in the second half was so strong he had to run as soon as Cronin kicked. I'm expecting he's normally better than this....?

Moore and Eribenne both made a difference I thought.

If it is so easy for you why didn't you attend for one of our biggest matches of the season.....you couldn't be arsed, yet you slag off those who made the effort to go and cheer on the team.

As it happens 300 is not a bad away attendance.

Very good of you to condescend to possibly attend the Northwhich game, I dont think you should trouble yourself.
