Dom, that is out of order. I don't intend to start a debate on that subject on this forum but as someone standing for the board yourself I thought/hoped you might have a bit more integrity.

Minus one vote. And for the record, Dave stated he intends to renew his membership when it expires, just that he wasn't prepared to extend it now.

I tend to agree with Jeffs initial statement on this thread.

I also just do not have the strenght to read all the four pages of this thread through..so sorry for perhaps going a little bit OT..and then not.

We had a rant today on the MyFC forums from the EUFC youth sector.

It was very nice to hear something about the ACTUAL situation at the club,and not the usual clever posts about virtually nothing.

Why hasn´t this been brought up on THIS specifical forum before?

Perhaps it has,then before Novemeber 07..and the debate still is lacking,quite miserably I might add..from the genuine and longterm EUFC fans(before G&N..yada yada yada).

Why is that?

Don´t you give a flying feekk about the youth teams at Ebbsfleet?

I tell you something.

Today,that rant from some keypersons working with this at YOUR club has done more progress for EUFC than the combined posts here..mine included!

You are MyFC blind,the lot of you.

The youth teams situation at the club is something that REALLY warrants a discussion on THIS forum.

Where is that discussion?

No where.

That is a shame,and the guilt for that lies specifically at your feet.

Sorry for this rant,the truth none the less!

Eat it with some whipped cream!

It is a disappointment I must say.

all very noble claudia old girl but the truth of the matter is that non leaguers are not really interested in youth football...oh yes we wheel the kids out when they win something and we make all sorts of fancy statements about youth and community development blah blah blah but what we want to see is our kids getting into the first team and helping our clubs win things....it costs the fans a lot of money to watch their team on a saturday and they work hard all week to enable that to be possible...they want a first team winning and thats the way it is...thats why they support the club and come back every time win lose or draw...eternal optimists everyone....

this forum is healthy and carries all sorts of debate reasonably well and without undue moderation...

if it aint broke..... laugh

We have completely and utterly different opinions regarding MyFC..and quite honestly I think you post shyte many a times.

Still,I know you know your stuff and if just being able to filter the bad from the good..then you tell the truth..and nothing but..now and again IMO.

I certainly think you are absolutely spot on regarding the youth teams,the youth football.

It will have to change,slowly but surely.

Did you give a damn at Hornchurc regarding it?

Obviously not I recon.

Erm...possibly because whoever from the youth club raised the subject and concerns on the MyFC forum has never raised it here before...?

Unc is right to an extent - non-league fans often don't have the luxury of worrying about the youth team because they're hard at work merely keeping their club afloat, let alone the lower branches of it. That's not to decry the very hard work and importance of a youth team but as so often with these things, it's in the hands of dedicated volunteers and many of the meagre resources are aimed at improving the footing of the first team because while (some of) the youth team may be the future, the first team is what keeps any club going.

MyFC may well have the resources and people to improve this. A thousand fans and for the most part voluntary club workers have not in the past, so it's a bit rich coming on here and slagging everyone off for not doing their bit for the youth team.

PS. And I see your same rant about fans not giving a toss has been posted on MyFC... It's a fact of life... go on the forum of any club and talk about youth football and the thread won't last long. Good luck if you chaps can change it, but don't be so high and mighty about it because you all suddenly care three months in. If you're still supporting the youth team in five years, then come back and haul us over the coals.

I have been involved with some youth football over here in Sweden..so perhaps that is why I feel strongly about it.

I can understand that the club was in a tough economical environment..so to speak.That is part of it I guess.

Another part of it is that that the average fan still doesn´t care..no matter what club.

I do tend to think that there could have been alot things done for the youth football at EUFC in the past,if the concern had been bigger.We are actually not taking big money,big effort here to improve things.

Still,this is no special for EUFC.The normal fan wants his pint prematch and his 90 minutes football match..preferably at Saturday 15..00.

I get that Stu.

Instant consumption.That is the way it have always been.

I still do not think it is 100% right though..never will.

think before you post old boy....(and I know you struggle with the interpretation) but hard fckn luck...this is an english forum...(kent even) grin

you know nowt about what I do but again I will answer honestly...we have a superb youth set up at 5 levels and have won many a trophy...myself and I and me and mine and the rest of them have put large resources and a lot of hard work at the disposal of the Hx youth teams...all good community stuff and I pander to it...

but....

I personally have no interest in watching them other than to spot a potential reserve/first team gem...my week is long and hard and expensive...I wanna relax on a saturday and watch my red and white heroes win/lose/draw/drive me mad/pi55 mke off/elate me....then I wanna have drink and a curry and either gloat or whinge...either way its my day and I love it...cherish it and look forward to it...

if I'm lucky I will get to shag an urchinette... yay grin

most non leaguers are the same if they are honest...

this may not be popular but could be the begining of the end for many things in football.giving fans a say will stop this nonsense of chairman continually picking managers and having no comeback only leaving the fans to suffer.supporters paying a fortune to watch football with little or no say,look at barca they are owned by the supporters and they seem to be doing ok.liverpool are going down the same route and others will follow.on a far bigger scale although the theory remains the same,give fans a proper say in the club they support and follow.if the scheme is working well after a couple of seasons imagine if the yearly share becomes £152 per season giving you a budget well in to the multi million type of investment who knows where you will end up.
