Returning to the curry houses of Hertford, I would put both the Tikka Cottage and the Raj well ahead of Shahenshah.

I've been boycotting the Blackbirds, when back in Hertford, after a bouncer pee-ed me off, with pettymindededness

 

3 of us queueing, spaces inside...Thursday night, he asked us to wait.

We said we'll give you 3 mins

 

2 people came out,

he was gonna let 2 of us in, and leave one of us outside !

 

anyway....I think I can squeeze the Tikka cottage into my top 5 Hertford Indians, on your recommendation

 

1. Sharenshah

2. Raj Tandoori

3. Tikka Cottage

4. Bollywoods

5. Hot House

Looking from the road (don't stand in it mind!) it is to the right of the Blackbirds. There may well be something in between the two establishments but it is pretty close.

 

And I would put the Bismillah above the Hot House in the top 5, it's a takeaway only place but serves some quality stuff. That's the one opposite the blackbirds.

I didn't like to put it like that but......

First time I went with you all, Kelvin ate through the card and some, and then insisted that the bill was split even between everyone! He reckoned that the others had drunk more beer than him, so it evened out!
