I've heard that last Saturdays game between Wembley and Arlesey Town was abandoned after, according to the Daily Telegraph, one of the Wembley players did an "Eric Cantona" (i.e. leapt the pitch-side barrier to assault a spectator), but this time against one of his own supporters!! This may not have been the whole story, but becareful not to "sledge" their players too much on Saturday, you never know what might happen!!

I think that you will find that it was more to do with racist comments....we certainly never had any problems with Wembley when we went over there...

personally I thought that they were nice people......

Don't worry...we'll have the 'panthers' on duty.....

Romford & Wembley had a real ding dong a few years back. Many sending offs and a ladder was thrown at the Boro supporters by a Wembley Sub at the end of the game.

At the time the Wembley side was 100% black and Boro had a few followers (of the no surrender type) who were less than desirable after a few beers. It was a cocktail for confrontation. The same season they had a game abandoned at Barking after an alledged knife incident.

However we have played them since and not had any problems.

i've been nosing around on the Arlesey site to find out what went on but they're all keeping schtum....!!

nothing on there at all which you must admit is somewhat strange....mind you..they are a bunch of 'rednecks' (as roger rabbit would say) up there... so I wouldn't be surprised if it was something racist...although they do have coloured players in the team.....we'll find out from the Wembley players on saturday anyway...

we've only had one problem this year so far...a lady believe it or not at Uxbridge....all through the game....hard to believe really...

Found the following on another Ryman message board

"Arlesey 8 on the attack chopped down by wembley 2. ref plays advantage but arlesey lose the the ball which is then kicked upfield - ref shouts at number 2 that he is coming back for him.

arlesey 3 chops down wembley attacker- ref blows whistle, wembley 7(bates)

runs 40 yards and barges into arlesey 3 who then responds by punching bates 3 times.

red card for arlesey 3 and just a yellow for bates.

ref goes back to the wembley 2 and books him,ref returns upfield before the wembley 2 jups barrier and starts punching and kicking out at everyone in

sight, then 18 players jump barrier and start scrapping.

wembley chairman also involved while his daughter goes round threatening all calling everyone a f88king c88ts etc.

REF SAYS: F88K THIS MATCH OFF."

Was the game at Arlesey or Wembey?

that was me who put that on our mailing list and then someone pasted it onto the ryman board, that report was given to me by an arlesey supporter, this is the wembley version as told by a work colleague who was there.

the wembley groundsman in his 60s was shouting abuse at an arlesey player(not sure which one)possibly the one who was sent off,he reacted and a punch up ensued whereby the wembley 2 and other players, chairman and fans decided to have a free for all, once everything had calmed down . ref called it off.

amazing how two people at the same game can see two different versions.

nice to hear from you again stoney.....you are genuinely welcome.....we miss a bit of 'Friday Camel baiting'...!

must say that an air of mystery remains over this little fandango.....in fact Arlesy have banned uncle urchin from posting on their message board because he went on there and asked what had happened...(probably a smart move anyway...!!) not a word on there about the incident from the fans or officials.........very strange.......

who's hiding what we ask......is there any room in football for this sort of behaviour......why were the officials involved...they should be setting an example.....an investigation should follow........relegate them all immediately.........this has all the hallmarks of a major cover up..........it must not be allowed............

has anyone informed watchdog about this...........!!!!!
