I really need to mention the fantastic coverage of the matches at Hartsdown. Wellsie, you have gradually improved over the past few seasons and now give an absolutely professional commentary. To think that you are alone in doing this and still manage to do the announcements is exceptional. Looking back to when you first started, there were long silences in the commentary as you tried to think of something to say or you got tougue tied in the process, and now it just rolls off the tongue. Keep up the good work, there are not very many clubs that can boast such good media coverage, unless you want to pay £60.00 a year for the privalage like at Aldershot. This is a life saver for those of us that cant get there as often as we would like. Well done

No worries there. I still listen to each of the commentaries to work out what I can improve. In fact, have just listened to yesterdays and there were things I liked a lot and others that made me cringe, so lots of work to do yet. I also listened to my first commentary, MFC vs Windsor & Eton (and in fact that was the evening that CK was suspended by the club) and what a difference!

 

The thinking I am most happy about is the balance between my excitement when Gate are doing well and still trying to be clear about the opposition player's names and when they do something well.

 

But, thanks for your comments, they are really appreciated.

 

I relly do believe that the commentary service - both live and recorded plus interveiws - puts us ahead of many of our peers ad is getting us some national attention.

More work for Wellsie, but it would be appreciated for those of us a bit time challenged

Difficult to do time-wise to get a same day turnaround for report, stats, interviews and commentary upload. I will bear it in mind though.

 

Hint: If you are short of time, check out the report first for the goal times and then drag the slide control in the audio player to roughly the right place of the match commentary.

I'd just like to say that Steve has improved 1000% since the early days of the web broadcasts. I have said before that us exiles appreciate every broadcast and Steve knows that I have been less than chuffed when we don't get one!!!!

 

Keep up the good work Steve and all those that get the broadcast online at every home game - we really do appreciate you!!!! Your second only to Motty!

Are you going to take up the offer from your co-commentator at AFC Wim. to partake in their broadcast next week and in effect provide a 'joint commentary' service next Tueday. (though i do hope to be there anyway )

Well, I'm certainly going. Last time I went I was offered a dedicated line for live commentary but I'm reluctant to do that when they put a live show on so if invited I'm sure I'll accept.

Thanks for your kind words again Tony. As I said in another post, I do listen again to my own commentaries and try to pick up things to improve so hopefully that is paying dividends.
