May the 17th is when it's all happening, I think. The Farriers Arms match, and then a barbecue or buffet in the clubhouse and then disco.

I thought that there is to be a disco in the clubhouse after the Basingstoke game on May 3rd. It is/was being organised by the Supporters Club Committee. There is/was to be an auction of the players shirts worn that afternoon [but washed and dried before the auction by the chap who used to drive the red tractor].

 

I didn't think that the auction was intended to be 'the main event' but, rather, a bit of fun fund-raising as an aside.

 

Now. May 17th. Is that the day of the "Never let principles stand in the way of next seasons strip" Friendly between S.S.F.C. and t'Farriers Arms FC at the Park? Is that the one with the disco and buffet for "players, club officials, ground redevelopers and supports club committee members only"?

 

If so, I don't meet any of those criteria so I'm not holding my breath for an invitation.

It's been confirmed there's definitely no disco on May 3rd after Basingstoke, so I doubt Emma and I will bother, to be honest.
