You are so right, Laz. Just why everyone is going on about what a great season it has been, is puzzling me somewhat.

Ok, we're third, and will probably finish in the Top 5, but when we look back in say five years time, I don't think we'll remember many of the matches as being classics. A day out in Stockport and Aldershot at home aside. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

totally agree
after aldershot at home I thought we might just do it this time
unless there's a chance of entering the inter-2-bob cup, fifth might be acceptable

A fair summary of the season...

1. Won the first seven games against recently promoted teams, teams that hadn;t quite got going yet, and had a bit of luck.

2. Had a run in the cup against pub teams until we faced some serious opposition. (Not unlike 1996 Bristol City or 1999 Forest Green.)

3. Beat Aldershot.

4. Had a reasonable March where we didn't play any of the top teams, but still managed to concede late goals.

Fortunately, Hendon, Sutton and co are probably just as crap as us. Canvey and Aldershot should be playing in a different division!

You lot make me die! Never satisfied! I think we've had a good season. At least we are not Hampton or someone like that. I cant possibly imagine what you would be like if we were. It would be hell.

Laz. I know we are bidding but I'll never match your bid!

I think that too, Laz. What you've got to ask yourself is, have we improved since the first half of the season. The answer has to be "no".

There's pessimism, and there's realism, Helen. Optimists can only be disppointed.

I think it'll be between Canvey and Hayes next season, with Bedford and Sutton as outside bets. Us? Mid-table, I'm afraid.
