Kentish Town - Striker-less

Recommended Posts

Rhodes - having said that ged is a good guy/coach/manager - would you not prefer the two boys you have at KTFC to be with him and learn from him and play at a higher level/shop window - then going somewhere else to someone that you might not hold in such high esteem.

I will ask Ged about his thoughts on the memorabilla when i next get to speak to him - i would imagine he is extremely busy with the job at hand over at Wadham Lodge.

Rhodes will you be in attendance at Wadham lodge this season?

Football man - thank you for the information about julian - its a shame that he isnt in a coaching role at the moment, he is a good coach with lots of ideas - I always wondered if he would take on a role over at KTFC

3praise - A post packed with intrigue and talking points as per usual, you were sorely missed when you went into hiding at the same time Ged was unceremoniously shown the door by 'Sugar' who I note hasn't been on today. Firstly there is a time and a place for everything and Ged knows he was wrong to approach Lee Scott and Jonathan Donoghue in the un-professional manor he did when Kentish Town were flying high in division 1 although you can't really blame him for trying, also why be greedy and try to get both players leaving us totally high and dry. Furthermore Lee Scott is more than capable of holding his own at your Brentford's, Orient's, Barnet's and Dagenham and Redbridge's and he only turned out for Waltham Forest at Edgware because Kentish Town didn't have a game that day, as did Jonathan who was keen to go back to his former stomping ground.

Yes I will try to get to a game at Wadham Lodge before the end of the season, it's really good to see Ged turn things around there so soon but he needs to go about things the right way as Step 4 is not Hackney Marshes or Wanstead Flats on a Sunday morning.

Im sure Ged did what he had to do and has reason!

Rhodes if you announce when you will be over at Wadham lodge im sure that they will lay out the red carpet and make sure the sandwiches are to your expensive taste.

Have you been on the WFFC website at all Rhodes its very good and run to the micro second. something im sure you will appreciate.

On the issue of Ged taking both players to leave you high and dry - im sure you will agree that most strikers would prefer to partner somone they get on with and know then some stranger - so it was good management to get both over and play together - Im sure Sir Bobby would have done the same thing.

3praise - I will get back to you a little later with a sneak preview of a story in tomorrow's Islington Gazette about Waltham Forest's approach for Lee Scott and Jonathan Donoghue. In the meantime have you seen this from the Walthamstow Guardian, it's nice to see Ged basking in glory:

3praise - Apologies for not getting back to you yesterday to give you that sneak preview so you could have at least warned Ged off, perhaps you have already gone out of your way to purchase a copy of the Islington Gazette today as the story about Lee Scott and Jonathan Donoghue has broken in no uncertain terms. I cannot seem to find an electronic link to the full page article to post but here is an extract that I'm sure you will be most interested in:

'Andy Perkins, Waltham Forest's Club Secretary, admitted that the Ryman League Club had made a mistake and he echoed Scott's insistence that the incident was an innocent misunderstanding. "At any level of football you should give seven days notice of an approach" he said, "In this case the two players arrived wanting to play so I believed, wrongly, that they were available to play for us. It was a misunderstanding, I normally get these things right but on this occasion I got it wrong"'.

Fair play to Mr Perkins for holding his hands up however I find it unbelievable that a Secretary of a Step 4 Club should make such a mistake, surely he must have been aware that Scott and Donoghue were registerrewd with Kentish Town, didn't Ged let him know.

Didn't the players let him know? He would have asked them where they had been playing.

Jayjay - I'm disappointed as I thought you had got out of your silly habit of rolling a grenade into this Forum and then running a mile. Lee Scott chooses to play at Kentish Town and we are not twisting his arm up his back or holding a gun to his head, last Saturday he could have played at Step 4 for Waltham Forest against Potters Bar Town but much preferred to play for us against Winslow United at Step 6, what does that tell you.

The article has Rhodes' handy work written all over it, i have notified Ged who should read it soon - Thanks Rhodes for posting it - its as informative as ever.

Here's a blast from the past Rhodes - do you remember Andy Bates? How comes you don't speak of his efforts as much as you do of Julian Hudson?

Rhodes you are expecting 200 for your game against Royston? - Waltham Forest are playing Dartford Saturday who can average over 1000 what a difference a step makes.
