It was good to see EFM get a mention by name in the programme on Saturday, albeit in Awayday's match report for the Canvey game, rather than an official word from the club.

Yes, RTS is correct. There was an announcement made over the tannoy by whispering Fred Miniken, which was made about 10 minutes before kick off. If you had turned up for the start of the match, Zeal, you may have heard it.

 

Unfortunately, this was not an official announcement in the strictest sense of the word. Fred would have said nothing had it not been for yours truly, who asked Fred to make an announcement and filled him on on the details of the fundraiser.

 

I noticed that John Gibson was one of those who did not join in with the applause.
