Were the gods as disgusted as we were.......

.....with that penalty decision against us?.

In most circumstances I would back the ref.....not today. That decision today was the WORST ever I have seen.I joke not!

Coming at(whoever it was)at 100 mph,hit a foot & bounced up.Impossible to give it as intentional. But the many appeals swayed that ref today & he should be ashamed of himself for giving it.

After that we pushed & pushed & thoroughly deserved the win. From the moment that penalty was scored it was a different Margate side out there.

I spoke this morning about "wanting" to win the game. That was a very very hungry team out there from that point. They weren't doing too bad up to then either.Second half we battered them even before the penalty.Maybe we should,in a weird way be thanking the ref.Even their supporters couldn't believe that decision.

Did the Gods find it a ludicrous decision too? I think maybe they did

If ever there was a game where justice was SEEN to be done today was the day.

Thrilling game & anyone that didn't go today missed a cracker & a hungry & polished team effort out there today.

Absolutely Cookie. Shocking and appalling decision. Unbelievable. Where do they get these referees from? But the team responded brilliantly, and we produced some excellent football to win the game comfortably. Superb.

My dad said to me after the game today "Why can't they play like that every week?".

We would all like to know that too I should imagine but if we did we would be where Chelmsford are right now.

There were still a couple of players really off form today I thought (no names going to be mentioned today) but even they knuckled down to it & got us this victory today. Real good team effort, real good!

And HUNGRY for the win too! Yes,they really did get their just rewards! Well done Trotty & the players.. ALL of them!!.

Yep,I agree with you on both counts Tone.Trotty was very good at the back today.Rob was the man though. Never stops running & causing defences problems.Great headed goal too. On target & with Power.

His workrate & desire I think rubbed off onto the others today from what I saw. To me he lead the team to success with his attitude of wanting the win.

Did you hear him (I think everyone did) when they were awarded that penalty. His disbelief & frustration all came out at once.

It's not big or clever to keep going on about when Aaron was lobbed! frown You know full well it was a freak wind that took it over his hair smile

Well done on your result today applause

Funny how he began to give us decisions more after that, some that we really weren't entitled too.

I think you call that a guilty conscience.Trying to even things up a bit. He knew he had made an error.

Lucky for him the he didn't lose control of the game altogether. It looked like it was heading that way at one point in the game.

Completely agree: what an absolute shocking decision. Personally, I was very disappointed with Staines and felt that they rarely threatened. The only way I could see them scoring (apart from in the last five minutes when they piled on the pressure) was through a dubious penalty. Cue the referee. What an absolute idiot.

But, overall, we thoroughly deserved the win. Thought we controlled the game, just lacking a bit of creativity in the final third in the first half. But once the goal went in, it seemed to spur us on, and, for me, the whole team banded together, played some lovely football and really deserved the win.

Solid (for us, anyway!) at the back today - thought Trotty had a sound game. Nice to see Macca and Standen back to their best today, and didn't Standen do well not to react when their player squared up to him? But, for me, Haworth was the best player on the pitch today: 100% workrate, chases everything and caused their defence no end of trouble - in the air and on the ground. Amply supported by Pinns who deserved his two goals.

Great performance. Superb win. Well done lads.

There was a similar incident in yesterday's FA Cup game between Sheffield United and Middlesborough when Yakubu (I think) went to clear from his own penaly area and hit his own arm with the ball. There was actually a bit more pressure on him at the time than in our game but the ref didn't see it as a penalty and the BBC commentators agreed with the decision. Still think it did us a favour on Saturday but wouldn't suggest we should go 1 down on a dodgy decision every game!
