Yet More Outspoken Views From Yours Truly

I was partaking in a Rugby 7's tournament today (ask HKS), and so was unable to watch either the Watford - Southampton match or the [****!!****]. I have seen the highlights, however.

The goal. The ref explained why play was not stopped. Fair play to him. If it had been a Grays player on Saturday, we wouldn't have wanted play stopped.

The referee got in the way. It was extremely unfortunate, but it happened. Utd had more than one chance afterwards to clear the ball before Ljungberg scored.

Hard cheese to Sheff Utd fans (mainly you, mde).

Seaman's save. I would've held it. Although I'm assuming wind was assisting, and assumption is the mother of all ####-ups, so I think I'll give 'Big Dave' the benefit of the doubt. Oh, and AFF, that was better than Hursty's effort.

AFF. When do you want me to talk you through my tries?

Zeal. Will you be going on Tuesday night?

EFMTFTV. How was Backpackers?

And finally. Wasn't Stringer's try the perfect way to 'retaliate' against Back's 'flapping hand?'

Stringer's try was an appropriate response, GHA. It was certainly more appropriate than Stringer's flapping hand when he punched Johnson M. [needless to say, when Johnson was involved in a maul and couldn't see him], immediately before Johnson hit back and was cautioned by the referee.

The touchline microphone picked up Johnson's comment to the ref "What about the three I took?" but the Beeb only showed the replay of the 4th.

The ref did not explain why five minutes later he stopped play when Viera went down injured when no free kick was given.

If he had a ounce of sense in his body when he ran into Tonge (and saw Allison still down) he would have allowed Allison to receive treatment and covered his mistake.

When explaining himself he couldn't even get Allison's name right (he can however walk up the pitch with his arms round Freddie) - Poll is one of the worst Refs for thinking that he in someway is there to add to the game, he has an ego and likes to be centre of attention. Oh for the day when football refs can use the common sense and control of players that rugby refs do.

Seaman top save. Arsenal probably just the better side. I would rather have lost 4-0 than to that goal. At least we were by far the better fans, Zeal I see what you mean about the library.
