Ursuline get home draw

Seems a shame that the boy's attitude is clouding what is:

a) A remarkable achievement by the Ursulines.

B) A chance for the local area to see the Ursuline heroes in action in the final.

So someone needs to grow up and forget the tribal stuff, because it detracts from the genuine achievements of the team as a whole.

Surely the event is a chance to celebrate the standard of Thanet youth football as a whole, rather than create division and ill-feeling.

Just got back from the trick cycalist due to the fact I agree with the above 100%.

This is THANET vs bromley so we should all support Ursuline regardless of where we live on the Island.

Since you are Slagging off your Youngsters.. AGAIN!!!

let me just tell you this..

The Boyz.. Are very upset that the game is going to be played at a ground Like Hartsdown park! When last season.. the Final was at Selhurst Park!!

Why the Drop down?? ALSO!

They play at Hartsdown Park every Fortnight,, therefore the excitment of the game being played at a Big Football Ground has gone.. no offence..

Can Anyone here have any sense and see my point?

Exactly - maybe it is being played at HDP because of maybe minor things like cost, logistics etc etc. It might have escaped your notice O1G that your parents are paying a lot more for fuel for daddys taxi, electric to run your XBox and hot water to wash your smelly little body (urghhhh...). So stop being so bloody selfish!! When I was at school we would have chopped a limb off to play at HDP or, god forbid, Deadwood.

Wind your neck in, keep your mouth shut and maybe, one day, you will have earned the right to play at League grounds

I agree with you guys 110% as in this is a great chance to watch Thanet vs Bromley ok.

But I never slagged off Margates ground once, quote me if you can ?

I'm just saying,, big drop from Selhurst Park.... to Hartsdown Park.

And the boys would find it more exciting to travel for 2 hours with fans and family. They could watch the game in a League Stadium,, and then ursuline could play in a league stadium, possibly something only 5% could have a chance of doing in there career.

And all the starting 11 in every game is part of Margate FC, and, well, it just takes away that excitment being played at a ground which they are always at, unfortunatly, it takes away that special feeling of being in a final.

I've asked a good 40% of the team and said

Hartsdown Park and Win

Selhurst Park and Lose..

37% said that they could rather lose.

see my point here guys? can someone please see my side to the arguement..

By the Way Tony_T, I think you've had a quite a bit to drink, and next time you see me, say it to my face ok smile Then we'll sort this out since you think you can insult me and my family with lies.

To everyone else, good result today!

I know that in theory, younger players should be encouraged to enjoy their football and express themselves regardless of the result, but at what age should winning become the importanr factor.

A bit of a winning mentality would sit better by me-lets play at HDP (or anywhere) and win the thing.

"From thinking it was at Selhurst Park to Pantsdown park is quite a drop down don't you believe"?

True or not I found that insulting, insulting too that you and some others don't want to play there.Oh & its HARTSdown by the way..

If you don't want to be insulting when posting a serious subject call it by its proper name eh? You'll get more respect for doing so.

Look, you've made your point over & over again.I think its obvious what you are saying & I for one can understand. However to win a Cup,no matter where its played should be first & foremost in your minds or did you only play because you might get to play at a league ground! Sod the Cup,so to speak.
You're posts are somehow overtaking mine as the most boring. Can't have that now can we?

You made some good points & gave us all some good info but give a rest now will you, please!
Like someone else said its not what you're saying thats getting up peoples noses its the way you are saying it.

Good luck in the final anyway, wherever its played.

Well put Cookie. If you don't want to try and win the cup, why are you even bothering? That 37%, if that is true, I do wonder why they are playing football if they'd rather lose and have a day out than win a cup and with it comes its own special memories. Hopefully the other 63% are the first eleven and the playing subs, and can win Ursuline the silverware. Has it crossed your mind Only 1 Gate that the Ursuline Academy is designed to have close links with Margate FC and as a result it gives us people of Margate the chance to see the best youngsters in the area at a ground near us, those same youngsters who could make the Margate first team (and in Quain and Bowles case, already are around the first team). The home finalist last year quite possibly didn't have such close links with a local club, as in there probably wasn't an academy setup there.

Xander I do believe it is anyway, I'm sure you do realise why it's held at Hartsdown, but go and win the trophy and enjoy the day.
