So Jason and Brian did not see it then?

You mention every one else who could be involved but don't mention the current management.

Come on Jeffers.......current management ? You mean Mr Brooks & his speaker Dohechai ? Just looks at Dohechai's postings already....you know who the management are....even before the obligatory farce of the EGM !!

" in order to celebrate...." etc !!

Cheers,

It was 2 hours for the vote, I got the email at 3pm and it closed at 5.

I think the whole thing started when someone posted an artical last week abou making the most of the actual date of the partnership and eurostar picked up on that

I can imagine the whole thing had to be approved by the eurostar board at a meeting, we dont know when that was.

i still think its a good thing, I may be Durham Gill but I support Kent football and have done for years. I have seen G&N play over 50 times.

I have put my name forward to be on the MyFc board because I care about the club.

Over the weekend I will post my application on here I will be willing to debate the issues.

Meanwhile the important this is to get some points on the board with a win at Crawley

Just to provide some background to this -

Last Friday (8th) a member of the marketing team at Eurostar, who is also a member of MyFC, posted an article on the MyFC site entitled

How do we maximise the take-over announcement on the 19/2 from a marketing perspective?

The article received about thirty comments. I presume (don't know for definite) that Eurostar also discussed the issue with the Club Board members and the WT members. Eurostar then went off and decided their strategy.

They contacted the WT at 2pm today with two scamps for possible adverts (basic designs - the finished product is usually different) and asked the WT if they want to put the options to a members vote. The only proviso was that they needed an answer by 5pm to allow time for the artwork to be prepared so that it would be sure for inclusion in the appropriate media next Tuesday. Also included in the communication were details of the reception next Tuesday.

The WT immediately published the details of the information received from Eurostar on the MyFC site and began emailing all 28,000+ members with the details of the vote. My email was timed at 15.02.

I think Eurostar are to be congratulated for this effort. They could have ignored the entire situation. They could have run with their own plans without informing anyone. Instead they chose to allow the membership of MyFC to vote on the options available (despite serious time constraints they were under).

Similarly the WT could have told Eurostar that they weren't going to put anything to a vote given the previous complaints by a minority of members about deadline difficulties with voting. They chose not to do that.

The publicity that will be generated by this initiative by Eurostar will have a threefold benefit - firstly to Eurostar in terms of publicity - secondly to the club in terms of raising the profile of the club again - thirdly to MyFC in terms of increased sign-ups (which will have the knock-on effect of providing even more finance for the club). It's not often that everyone is a wnner.

I think the members got 3 hours to vote form 2pm to 5pm. There wasnt much of a choice to make as choice A I thought was bad. Your manager just wins manager of the month, then reads a big advert in the press " Manager Wanted " I know it was trying to be cute, but I didnt like it one bit.

We got a vote, it was a good exercise if nothing else that a snap vote can be called and a reasonable number will vote. It was luck that I saw my email at 4pm.

I suppose really the decision could have been made without us , ie, an announcement that Eurostar are running an advert next Tuesday.

Then next Tuesday, 4 days before a big cup tie, ad reads " MAnager Wanted"

I agree, was really only ever going to be only one winner - yet 400+, (almost a quarter) thought that 'A' was the best option!
Lets hope thats not indicative of the membership!

Hopefully, the best choice was made. Cant happen everytime, but hopefully more than not. I read that the rough plan will now take into account some of the hundred or so comments.

SOme did say, and I think I would agree, that if time had allowed, given 24 hours, fans could have suggested a good 6 choices and then a final choice made. But then, professionals I guess would not want amateurs doing their creative job.

Less than 15% of the total membership.........A reasonable number? Really!
I wait with bated breath for some of the other votes to come!

Isn't that what is going to happen with picking the team?

In an hour or so, 15% is probably pretty good. I have been less than chuffed with some vote turnouts, but do you need to pick holes in EVERYTHING, AFF...? achso

Pat - many members indicated they voted option A because they felt the ad was straightforward whereas the second one could be confusing. I think nearly everyone that commented suggested changing 'manager wanted' to 'owner wanted' (or something similar).

Thank God someone on here wants to talk about football.
I've been looking through the posts on here for over half an hour and most are tedious, repetitive and incredibly predictable.
AFF#1 and John Pearce need to get stickies and save on multiple negative posts.
For blokes who are mad keen on their football club there is a dearth of discussion on football.

Dom - so on the 19th Feb Eurostar were to run an ad campaign looking for new owners of EUFC? Blimey, are MyFC looking to sell out already?
As to the 2nd advert being confusing? Its the 19th Feb, MyFC have taken over the club, the poster says "Congrats to the new owners of EUFC".... Yes, that looks very confusing.
