Urchins v Great Wakering

Lord

Recommended Posts

I know its barely 24 hours since our win at Wingate, but already my attention turns to our game on Tuesday, the Thameside Trophy match against Great Wakering. I have posted on several occasions regarding my total dislike for Great Wakering F.C., its players and its unpleasant supporters. However, this is a game that in all honesty has little bearing on our season, in my opinion. Given what they tried and almost succeeded in doing last time, i.e. kicking our lads of the pitch, I honestly can't see what would be gained by Mick fielding our strongest side. I know its a cup at the end of the day, but our number one aim is promotion, not some trophy. How do other supporters feel? I'd like to see Mick field a team of reserves with one or two of the first teamers in there, maybe even sticking Collier in the side?? Any views?

i agree with you 100 % but our management team

are beginning to believe their own publicity.

what manager in their right mind would play locckie[whos f******] and lowrie[who is not fit enough for this level]

in the same team in midfeild in a promotion hunt,,

and leave cowley on the bench who would have

crunched the midfield,,

a manager that wasnt there thats who,

were asked every week to support the team,

we wiill, if the manager will as well

wedding, ???are you serious or what, how

about the people that have changed

this club around includibg the fans,,

they wernt at weddings were thay, they were at wingate-

it doeasnt wash with me, bullshit more like,,

two fingers up more like,,to the fans as well,,

money changes peopel, marsden never went to a wediing last year did he?

I'm dissapointed with that last post. Mick, like the players, has put a lot in this season. At the end of the day he still got the result and with his mgt team (who should be able to run the show in his absence !) he could afford to take a Saturday out for (I'm sure) was an important occasion for him and his family.

I feel thats a little strong mate, I'm no expert on Non-League managerial stuff, so I don't know whether it is the done thing or not, going to a wedding on matchday. I must say, that to me it sounds strange considering the crucial time of the season that it is, I know that my company wouldn't allow me hoilday at our busiest time of the year! But I have every faith in his employers at the club and am sure they thought it through and made the right decision.

As for the Locke and Cowley situation, I'm a big fan of Cowley, so I would like to see him in the team. I just wonder whether both are fully match fit at the moment, seeing that both, I understand, are returning from injury?

Lord could not agree more. Hopefully we will have promotion wrapped up before we go down to Wakering for what will be another kicking match! I agree with sticking Collier in goal, still don't think Woodsy is playing as well as he did in the first quarter of the season. I think if Collier does play it will be a good test, like what i've seen of him, this year. Also it would be good to see a few of the boys that were playing last year in 1st team who are now in the ressies. And where is John Bates?

Agree with you on both counts Lord, we have to play a reserve side on Tuesday. Anyway, we have a decent squad assembled now, it should still give em a good run for their money, may even do the job.

I admit it does seem strange that Mick missed the game yesterday, but the chaps that run the club are no mugs. Look we won anyway, I'd understand if we lost, we didn't. No need to get on Micks back, give the guy a break, where are we sitting after all?!!

Well everyone on here seems to be in agreement on the subject, so Mick, if you reading this, lets have the ressies out for this one. Its a "win/win" situation, some of the boys that have been playing and playing well it must be said, for the reserves, will get a big boost playing in the first team and the boys that have been doing the job for the first team get a well earned break. Maybe I am in a minority, but I couldn't care less if we went out of this cup, at the end of the day its promotion we are after, not the Thameside Trophy and that ain't knocking it, but our priorities must lay elsewhere. Would be good to see Collier given a game, with the rest of the team made up of reserves and sort of first team fringe players i.e. Crippsy, Nath, McDonald, Lowery, Fox, Tungate, Olly, etc.... In fact, I'd really quite like to see these boys given a game, we all know how good our first team are, but how many of our supporters have seen the efforts of Paul Sutton and his team this season? Probably not that many of them. Mick and everyone else at the club, give Paul's boys their chance, they really do deserve it.

Listen to this joker. The ref from the league game between us is probably lapping up the sun in his newly built conservatory courtesy of Mr Bryco after his fantastic performance . You struggled against a team whose weekly wages probably dont even add up to half of adam lockes yet completely outplayed you for 90 minutes only to be denied by 12 minutes of injury time . Full of big timers is what you are and i can only think what the team spirit is like. Lockie and Jones choosing the side while Marsden sits there like a lap dog falling to all of their demands. We hope you do go up so we wont have to play you filth again. I just hope you dont need points when you come to us on May 3rd cos you will go home empty handed. And what fun for Yeading and Canvey to get themselves to the League cup final only for it to be played on one of the worst pitches in the league . And youd think with all that money that Mr Bryco would get his hair cut . It is the most shocking buffant i have ever seen.

oh yes, like it, very funny. totally outplayed us????? great joke, you got a dodgy goal thanks to our keeper, not remember no? outclassed, hardly. you got exactly what you deserved out ofd that game, nothing. anyway, you might get something out of us if we play our reserves against you tomorrow, although don't get your hopes up.

I like it how this one piping up is labelled "anonymous". If you are going to pipe up then at least tell us who you are fella.

Mr Brycos bung robbed us of victory. How many others have had the same fate i wonder. Yeading away for example. Goal goes in whistle is blown , all too familiar. Looks like his money has got you 6 points, and rescued him from the clutches of the taxman . We dont care about the poxy thames-side trophy so you can stick as many reserves as you want out, we are just waiting for May 3rd to ram it down your throats.

a word of advice young man (or lady) you will not do you're club any favours coming on here with that sort of nasty spiteful posting. It really just tells the people that use the forums what we already know.

gwrfc----you are not a very nice person.

We have a good banter with most of your fans and players on this and other forums. We don't use yours because you haven't got one.

If you are going to become a regular poster on these web forums, may I suggest that you try a bit of humour and drop the old chesnuts such as 'Bryco' and 'Bent Refs' and 'what you will or wont do to us in the future' and try and contribute sensibly.

we dont mind the p*** being taken out of us. we do it all the time, but your rubbish is boring and objectionable and even your own club officials (who we know and respect) will take a very dim view of it all. Wise up and behave.

if having ooodles of dosh and in line for a second straight promotion spot makes us 'mugs'............................

well.....whatever could one say.....we'll just have to go back to our expensive holiday homes and ruminate and cogitate on the whole issue.....

the real scary bit is that he does 'Mean It Mick'

Hahaha, just humour them chaps! Its really quite assuming that their season boils down to beating us, or should I say “ramming it down our throats” on the last day of the season. Try your worst again, but to be quite honest, we’ll have probably wrapped promotion up by then.

Anyway, make the most of your last game against us, I’m afraid our paths will probably only cross again in matches like tomorrow, i.e. pretty meaningless cups. All the best for again battling relegation next sea

First of all i trust Mick and that he would only miss the Wingate match if it was a really important event for his family.

Now to more important issues i can't believe that so many vindictive and spitefull "supporters" could come out of such a nice place as Great Wakering! So GWRFC you dont care about the Thameside Trophy......I understand why that is with us( fighting for promotion) but what do u mid table losers actually have to play for? finishing 8th instead of 9th?

You don't want us to play our reserves because you only come to Hornchurch to see our stars compared to your overpaid thugs you call players!
