I'm with Hirsty, Strongbow is top priority, then Magners, then Bulmers! grin

The amount of ppl who want a pool table, we'll need a few. We should try and get a bar/clubhouse, which is not only available at matches, but everyday, just like at Northwich.

We can have a bigger stage with a band...Scotty?? grin

Lets clear this up for the Irish among us... That last one would be "Bulmers ORIGINAL", and not the product from Clonmel known as Bulmers in Ireland, but Magners in the rest of the world!!

And if we placing our drinks order - make mine a Beamish!

Exactly right, PatMan. As long as it allows for expansion in the future, I don't see a problem with a 5,000-capacity stadium. It would be a great problem to have, to have to put out a Full House sign.

Hmm while I agree to a point, you certainly dont want Darlingtons folly.
It would be nice to have a little extra capacity for Christmas and the occasional cup tie. You never know who else would be knocking about if promotion to Division 2 was gained. Plenty of decent sized clubs who could bring a big following are in the bottom two divisions of the football league, and of course a fair few within easy traveling distance.
But I'm not sure, I have serious doubts whether myfc is going to push the home support consistently upwards, so any increase will be local people. Your're also in easy reach of some very big clubs who I'm guessing take a big chunk of support from the area.

I guess I could look it up - but might be easier if you could explain

Attendances are a major problem, not just for Fleet - but lower leagues football in general. Sure, Charlton do their bit by running discount coach travel and almost giving tickets away (am guessing not so much an issue now they are an EX Prem side!) but still attracts fans away.
The MyFC crowd are trying to organise their own coaches to home games. I don't think this will be every week (just yet) more a trial to gauge interest - so yes, its down to locals only.
There are some who have converted to Fleet since the MyFC thing - but not enough... Something like 400+ MyFC members live in the surrounding postcodes, and I can't imagine they were all Fleet fans before. Like all football fans, the locals are fickle - they will turn out for the 'big' games, but its a struggle to keep them returning.
Promotion, a decent cup run, higher media presence all might help. Who knows? Buy one, get one free tickets have been tried along with many other suggestions. I would expect that this will be one of the first things looked at after the 19th

I have to confess to being a little surprised at an intial capacity of 5000. We proved against Canvet that we can attract huge crowds, given the right fixture. Whether we are consistently in the play-offs, or suddenly find a rich vein of FA cup form, is it not unrealistic to expect a few sell out gates in the next 5 years?

Also, is it not cheaper in the long run to add in the extra capacity during the initial build, as the plans, workers etc will aready be in place, not forgetting the inconvenience of closing large parts of the new ground during "add-on" work.

If I was project manager for this - I would ensure that 2 'final' plans were being worked to. Both would be for the same ground, one would be at a minimum capacity (call it 5k) with provisions already in place to extend - the other would be for 10k, but still with room for expansion.
This way, once the green light was given it would easy a much simpler decision to decide which plan to build to!
This seems very simple and straightforward, therefore there must be something wrong with it!

Probably better and easier to go for a capacity that will suffice for 10 years - say 7,000 - 7,500, similar to Satanage.
here.

CG - 7.5k in 10 years?

You do know that one of the pre-requisites for the MyFC selected team was to have the potential to reach the Prem League... Now I know they never set a date for this, and essentially EVERY team could have the potential, but even Championship football would require double figures!

Broadfield stadium is almost 5k capacity. The undeveloped side (the one you dont see cos of camera positions!) could easily have a new stand added without significant reduction in capacity during this. Yes, you do have to suffer what is in effect a "3-sided" gound, but nothing wrong with standing in the uncovered side when its sunny!

Great a version of the non-atmospherical Chelmsford City ground then?

I hope that don't include a running track? eek

From what I understood there will be no running track.

Yes, that is correct. I like Stella....apologies if this offends. I had 15 years of drinking real ale......but, for some reason that I have never quite worked out, my taste changed quite suddenly.

However, just to please you....my preferred taste is Strongbow, brewed by Mr Bulmer in Hereford. Last time I looked, Hereford was still in England & therefore hopefully I am spared your further wrath. I also take it that you do not eat any foreign food ? Furthermore, with our now multi national ownership, and I assume you are one of the MyFC boys, then it is bad form to foul mouth overseas beer & food as it might offend our brothers ( or sisters).

Cheers,
