Yes. Seems the odd mix of header & footer dates suggests a web editor was raking around for content & found an article which had been posted but never used. Did we previously have a development partner confirmed? Possibly as they are not named, this is just the partner we were currently in negotiation with pre-Christmas. 2010 is the one new angle.

Somebody making a story out of nothing or somebody with a bit of knowledge building up to some hard & fast breaking news? Unfortunately, probably the less exciting of the two.

It states in that article, that the stadium size would only be 5k. If thats the case,I would have thought it would be of very little use in the football league, if we need 2.500 through the gates at our present standard of football just to break even.

Agree with PatMan, as long as it can be enlarged at a later date, 5000 will be sufficient. A new stadium is needed, my only concern is that the "Faithfull Few" that support the Fleet now, are going to be lost in all that space. The atmosphere won't be that good.

Like Dartford, I think you will have a increase of "curious people" to start with, but they will drift away.

I can't see a new stadium making a big difference to attendances in the long run!

I fully understand ,where you are coming from, but with far better facilities, the club could have a family section etc, maybe attracting more children, females etc, it may also may attract more away supporters than the stadium does at this moment in time, plus I believe the stadium is going to be a multi functional sports stadium. so may need to cater for other sports other than football.

Possibly the best way ahead - being able to raise revenue on non-match days in vital to increase income and raise the clubs profile, especially locally.
Better facilities may NOT attract fans, but the ones presently could quite easily discourage people. Give the fans what they want - decent bar, decent food, decent khazi. They are more likely to turn up early and stay later watching the early/late game on telly and spending money!

Fosters Stu ???? Surely not !!! Strongbow & Stella....that's what you need on a Saturday afternoon ( or any other day of the week for that matter !).

Mind you, hope you have signed up as I have this feeling that there will be one rule/facility for MyFC members & another for your average punter who has not signed up !! However, peasants will be allowed to watch the game from the sniper toilets !

Cheers.....or not as the case may be !!
