good question graham ...

I really hope so ...

the club has been working with an all party committee and was recommended by the steering committee , which again was santioned by all parties until it face cabinet last night ! after a few ammendments and clarifications - the green lights were given for STFC to proceed to the next stage.

The next few stages are :

4 weeks detailed heads of terms

8 weeks agreement completed

20 weeks preparation of scheme and submission of preliminary proposal.

a long wait yet..but we have to jump each hurdle as we go..but we are now really moving forward..

regards chris s

Good news, congratulations to everyone who worked so hard in putting things together to get this far.

Although it still seems like early days; without wishing to rain on anyone’s parade, I’m interested to know how dependant these plans are on the football team avoiding relegation? I’ve heard people say on here that there is a possibility grants may be dramatically reduced etc. If so, is there a contingency plan in place should we drop out of this league, which let’s be honest, is looking more and more likely as the games run out.

Cheers

Mark

The relegation issue is of concern as that sets the upper limits as to what grants are available to the club. The higher the level, the more money can be applied for for the ground development. Whilst there is no major concerns financially if we do get relegated in terms of grant money, it is obviously in our interest to stay as high as we can. We will continue to push to stay at this level and beat off relegation.

It will be interesting on the 27th at the AGM to see what is discussed as with all Trust meetings, the agenda is rarely adhered to!

doesnt Rob come to games and support the club,so is there likely to be very much opposition to the plans from local people do you think, the coucilors in britwell were against the kennedy plans but know one knows what the people of britwell thought.anyway water under the bridge, the councilors got past disagreements off their chest so hopefully thats the end of that, much distrust of labour in the past dealings i suppose but at least all parties seem on board now, great news

Don't get me wrong, as a bloke I've a lot of time for Rob, but should a situation arise where a local issue could be exploited for political gain, any self-respecting political leader would jump at the opportunity.

One of the things that was in the officers reports was requiring to take some of the playing fields from St Joseph's School. If that causes uproar amongst the locals then it could cause problemes

Thats excellent news, next 3 months absolutely crucial both on and off the pitch. Thats an understatement! I may have to change my login. Lets continue the vocal support of the team and spread the word encouraging those that have drifted away over recent times to return and support " The Rebels".
