Amber Rebel make your mind up!

On the 26th Jan after the defeat at bracknell you asked "are we doomed" - we have since then lost 2 games and drawn against uxbridge - 1 point from 3 games!

Now you are saying "we can still do it I think" and "having said that we do look like we have the hardest run in" - please make your mind up!

sorry sr that my posts leave you a little hot under the collar old bean, its the nature of opinions is it not that not everyone can post things that are pleasing to the "right honourable"

its called the roller coaster i suppose after the bracknell defeat i was dejected seeing this like other people as a massive six pointer, yesterday left me depressed but i suppose because i saw what the team were capable of on tuesday against farnborough i still have belief,

staines i am a complex person grin

if you actually look at the post are we doomed you will find that i only asked the question without really stating my opinion although a knee jerk reaction was that we lost a massive game on the day, i didnt harp on about it in the thread saying we are finished it was just a question to ask other people.we are in a similar position. can i ask you what you think about whether we will stay up.

I think it is getting very tight if we stay up or not, as we have so few games of our own left, and my biggest concern is that it wont be on our own hands as other teams have so many games in hand.

In theory we have a good team who can keep us up - HOWEVER it all depends if they play well and that there is consistancy in the team to allow them to play well - the lack of consistancy is affected through:-

Injurys (luckaly few this year)

Suspensions (as above)

Transfers

Players coming and going - the Dave Barrett issue yesterday is still unclear - and there are more in the same position i.e. Murphy, Charles...

Management decisions - why did he move all the players around after Tuesdays game?

If the players have been paid or alleged "adjustments" in pay

And I am sure there are many more.

So will we stay up? I think the trip to Newport IOW will either be a celebration of staying up or a relegation party!!!!!

SR, some other reasons for lack of consistency are:

1) Players not being available on a regular basis through work commitments i.e. Steve Daly and Danny Jeffries. I think DJ has been a massive loss to us.

2) The players selected to play for Anguilla. They are back now but will be away again at a crucial time in March (if selected). Again not having Brian Connor playing is a massive loss.

Although nothings been confirmed I think Charles has definately left because his picture is no longer in the programme.

As far as the players being paid or having 'adjustments' in pay, I've heard nothing to the contrary to make me believe any different since Gary said 'every player has been paid up to date and in full'

I think the biggest problem now is the games in hand Bracknell have. They have four games on us and if they get good results in two of them they will go above us in the league. That means it is out of our hands. One point from three home games on the bounce and one and a quarter decent performance is not good. It is hugely irritating that we play out of our skins in the game against Boro and have failed to perform against two sides we could have beaten.

I looked at those games and expected to get somewhere between 4 and 6 points. Had we done that then things would have been looking good. Not to be and now we have a truly nerve wracking run in.

It is absolutely imperative that we come out of the blocks quickly against Winchester as otherwise heads will go down on and off the pitch.
