7 Days... Help!

A load of strange people are interesting in thinking that they will be hands on in the running of OUR football club.

In reality, they will be responsible for iomplementing decisions as cast by the members of MyFC in their votes.

From what I have seen, these votes are a rubber stamping process of decisions that have already been taken by some higher power.

They are putting together their manifestos for being elected to the 'board'

These range from the sublime to the ridiculous. DA11 from here is standing and I strongly suggest that anyone who has a vote, vote for him as he has a little bit of substance rather than spouting rubbish such as this:

'I believe my passion for democracy, openness, input and accountability is one that is shared by all members and they are causes for which I will not settle for second best. But they are not an end goal either. They are an ongoing process, something which must consistently be battled for and won time and time again.'

Will this make the burgers taste any better? There are real issues here that are simply not being addressed PatMan.

Cheers for that Jeff - throwing the burgers on the floor before eating them would make them taste better tho... Simple solutions to simple problems!

Just catching up on this "board selection" (bored selection springs to mind), and am I right in thinking that this board are just there to confirm what the directors and/or the MyFC majority have already decided? So confusing trying to wade through all the posts...

Nothing wrong with comfirming what the majority of MYFC has decided... the problem is what if they would be confirming what the "majority" decide?

My understanding is that the board of the MyFC Trust will be responsible for organising/formulating ideas and activity of the members and bringing them to a vote and implementation.

Had the board been in place, for example, the new shirt deal would have been handled by them along with the vote. I think they will be privy to a little more information on the issues they are dealing with than perhaps circumstances allow them to reveal to the members.

They will not be responsible for the running the club which probably burst a few balloons and it has been stated that they will only be allowed to organise/vote on subjects that the board of EUFC Ltd deem appropriate. The real power therefore seems to rest with the board of the club. Whether any of the MyFC Trust board find there way on to the EUFC Ltd board is not quite clear but there is, I believe, by agreement a place on the EUFC Ltd board for one MyFC Ltd member, which I suspect will be Will Brooks how the remainder will be elected/chosen/nominated as far as I am aware is anyones guess.

I am open to correction (in the gentlest possible sense).

The way I read it, the MYFC board which will be between 3 and 11 people, is there to make sure the members wishes for votes etc are carried out. People get confused that its the EUFC board.

Now the bad news.

Nominations for people standing ends on Tuesday. I think they then have a couple of days to sort things out. THEN there is a 28 DAY ! period of electioneering ! , THEN 48 hours of voting.

I am keeping out of it and trying to get people to Burton on the 23rd instead !.

I agree ( dont shoot me ) with what Dom says about this. The whole voting thing needs looking at, I guess the new board can do that.

I for one dont want this 6 week distraction every year just when the season is coming to the pointy bit ! A week to stand, a few days to sort things out, and a few days to vote is plenty. We had a week on NIKE, surely the same would do on this ?

I hope DA11 gets in, we need sensible local points of view on there.

Santa, I think you summed it up very well.

Not sure on the WILL position, as he is part of the operator Company in all this. Time will tell.

As I see it, MYFC will have representation on the main EUFC board,

BUT , a member of the MYFC board can not also be on the EUFC board.

I know you slate Dom, but he will probably clarify this if I have read it wrong.

I refer my learned friend to the Operator Agreement Schedule 1 Part A 7 (ii) and Part B 18.

In practice it would make sense to have a commonality between the Trust Board and that of the club....anyway not for me to worry about.

I do not slate Dom and never have, I admire he's stickability in the face of adversity but given his dogmatic stance and ability to swerve the difficult questions I am not surprised others give him a hard time.

At some point in the not to distant future a lot of people are going to say "Hey its nice we got a kit deal and that Liam has signed xxxxxxx xxxxxxx and xxxxxx for 08/09 , but why do I still ahve to queue for a burger and use poorly lit dirty smelly loos"

It has to be a two tiered approach. One tier looking at long term stability and one looking at quick wins for the 1200 or so visitors to Stonebridge Road.

For me , the catering need sorting. Queues are to long , the area near the shop where we get sugar etc is busy with people standing around. The snipers could do with a bit more light and the odd bit of dettol chucked around, a sink and a hand dryer or two. Apprantly the ladies is worse.

Lets start making some real changes as soon as we can.
