What is the secret of this defence? Conceding only 4 league goals this year so far is some achievement and is the reason why they are in this position. Do they have “lurches” at the back to head everything away or just terrier types who can close down and battle away?

I remember they had Karl Ready, the ex-QPR defender when we played them, but as far as I know he's playing league football again. Still, they won't have seen anything like Minton or Boylan!

They've got Ray Warburton who played in the football league for Northampton and Rushden and is currently doing the business for them.

 

Their supporters reckon keeper Nikki Bull is one of the best at this level. I'll think they'll change their mind when they see Danny Potter!

Yeah Warbs is doing the business and I feel the other defenders have learnt a lot form Karl Ready and now from Warbs. My player of the season would either be Nikki Bull or defender Dom Sterling. Think you may be able to score one on tuesday but then with your defence leaking goals in think we should be able to score as well its gonna be a tough game but great atmosphere!!

 

Prob be 1500 Shots fans making the trip how many will you bring?? I noticed that for your local derby you got around 300 so would it be a fair estimate that you will have around 500 home fans. Hope you change your mind about segregation and do what Kingstonian did yesterday they gave us the home end and they had the away end - this would seem a better solution than packing us all in an away end.

Shots 1 - You seem to have major problems with your message board at mo. I must say I am missing going on there and reading the shots fans messages, can be a good source of amusement. Your lot do worry so much don't they!!

The problem the other night was probably down to there being football on the telly. To be honest Canvey/Billericay games are not like they used to be.

There is alot of apathy around Billericay at the moment and that showed in the crowd. Canvey/ricay games used to be a real event and competitive but alot of supporters just can't be bothered any more.

There seems to be more rivalry between us and Grays or Gravesend now.

 

Whilst most games we get between 500/600 home supporters there are alot of Canvey supporters who come out of the woodwork for the big games. They don't bother all season but if suddenly there's a big match they're all out in force.

 

For example when we played Gravesend on a Tuesday in January last season at Park Lane there was well over 2000 there and probably 1600 Canvey fans. Admittedly that was right after the Burnley game but a match like this tends to bring the glory boys out.

 

We also took about 1000 to Stonebridge Road in that epic match. The people of Canvey may be showing some apathy at the moment but I'll bet you they'll be out in force on Tuesday. Problem is how many of them will turn up the following Saturday when we play lowly Chesham?

Should be a good gate then 2500+ hopefully.

 

I would settle for 0-0 but can see you scoring although I think we will create scoring chances so i go for 2-1 Shots Win. We will definately be better opposition than when we played you at the Rec you should have walked it that day.

 

Not sure why Shotsweb is down but quite a few websites are also down. Yeah we do moan a lot some of the crowd yesterday were even moaning when we were 2-0 up it beggars belief sometimes.

I think we'll win 2-1. We're playing some really good football at the moment and really battling in games.

To be honest even if we win, we've still got a mountain to climb. Shots showed what a good side they are by winning at Basingstoke and Kingstonian(never easy places to go to).

 

Whatever happens, it will be a real epic on Tuesday.

Am I right in saying that if Shots beat us on Tuesday, they only need 4 points to take the title or do we have more of a chance than that? I haven't looked at the latest league table. If they beat us we'll only be able to get 95 points, Shots will have 92 if they win and therefore need 4 to take the title...

their two centre backs and left backs were lurches who won pretty much everything when we played against them

 

may have had more to do with andy douglas playing that game and he isnt the biggest or most physical of players
