Slarti, I'd like to see you stand for the society board as well.

I don't know that this will be the case, but I assume we'll get the same number of votes as there will be board seats. I would like to see you next to Mark, helping MyFC learn more about the Fleet from the boardroom.

rsh, you asked Harry if he would work against MyFC decisions if he didn't personally agree with them, my answer would be an unequivocable yes. In fact I would fight for them not to make the bloody decisions in the first place.

Mark Ricketts in goal? I don't think so.

I would hope that there are enough sensible people amongst the MyFC members to realise that picking the team is not a viable option but if the lunatics really do get to take over the asylum it won't be with my blessing.

Slarti, I was only concerned with his proposed role as a board member who seemed to suggest that he wouldn't follow the dictates of his role on that board. As for trying to persuade the membership not to do something stupid before it's done, I think that's exactly the role every conscientious member should take on.

But once a vote has been taken--even one I (or an individual board member) may disagree with personally--it's the board's obligation to see that action carried through. To do otherwise is essentially fraud, if not in a legal sense, then certainly in an ethical one.

The Society's board isn't supposed to make such decisions, only see to it that the members' decisions are carried out. At least that's my understanding after reading the society documents.

I respect your decision not to stand for the board, although reading through your many posts here and on MyFC, I think you would be a helpful voice of reason in the fray.

Thats my understanding too and thats why I wouldn't want to be part of it.
I'd still like to see a real Ebbsfleet fan or two on the board though so that probably makes me a hypocrite.
DA11 and Harry are willing to do it so they will get my votes.

And what is the mechanism for that. The decisions that effect the club will be made by the board of EUFC not the MyFC board.

(We are going to end up with more tiers of government than America at the rate we are going)

The 'operator', MyFC Ltd will appoint the initial directors and any replacement directors and agree their remuneration.

The operaor (MyFC Ltd) will appoint and retain a director at the football club to ensure the wishes of the members are carried out.

Paraphrasing from the Operator Agreement, specific paragraphs were posted at the top of the thread where you originally asked the question.
