Oh Sunny Day

Recommended Posts

We'll win again some sunny day went the song last week and it was sunny today and we won!

Game started evenly but Billericay gradually started to get on top and were rewarded with a goal after about half an hour. Gary Ansell went up for a high ball with a 'Head defender who won the header but could only find Chris Stowe who twisted well to score with a header. The goalkeeper was in no mans land at the time. Moments later the keepers day got much worse when he was sent off for handling outside the area. We played some really good football at times and Chris Stowe smashed home his second in the 2nd half.

Team

JJ

Penn Gilley (Eastwood) Adedeji Savidge

Alexander Snowsill Snowsill Graham

Ansell Stowe (D.Williams)

The front two were excellent today with Ansell creating some good chances for Stowe who took his goals well. Rusell and Ollie were strong at the back and JJ hardly had a save to make. Excellent all round team performance with everybody making a good contribution (except Danny Williams who came on too late to get a kick )

WELL DONE BLUES!!!!

We deserved that win. Thats probably the best I've seen Gary Ansell this season, he was excelent. As was Chris Stowe, the first goal was probably quite lucky, but the second was superb! Like the Maidenhead keeper said after the goal: "That was a f***ing fine strike"!

I can't think of anything negative to say about the Blues today, except for when the ball fell for James Alexander 5 yards from goal! How did he miss???? Never mind, apart from that one thing he played really well and so did everyone else. It was great seeing JJ leaping for joy after the match, it was a well earnt clean sheet for him in my opinion.

Lets hope we see more of this in the last four games, espescially a certain game which is happening on Easter Monday!

Not that I would want to take anything away from a good spirited performance from Ricay today but Maidenhead were awful. The Keystone Kops defending in the first half gave us one goal and resulted in the keeper being sent off.

Good strike from Stowe in the second half to bring our first win for ages and the first time we have scored two goals in a game since 15 February.

Only bad thing was to see Danny Gilley only last half hour before limping off again.

I guess I've spotted the deliberate mistake Simon! Kerrigan at left back?? Could have sworn it was Savidge!

I dont care if maidenhead were poor or had ten men, a win is a win. Stowes goals were excellant, the first was maybe a touch lucky but you have to be in the postions to be lucky.

Well done lads, you deserved a win (hendon) long before the this game.

man of the match - Ansell, he was superb all day.

Think the role he (Ansell) played against Maidenhead was tailor made for him - just off a striker (Stowe) with a pair of wingers (Graham and Alexander) either side, allowing him to bring those 3 players and the Snowsills into the attack. From an attacking point of view the tatics were spot on - so well done to the management!
