This is not an offical statement from the club -

Having attended the scrutiny meetings on 7th Feb 2008 at Slough Town Hall ...

Former arbour vale school site : Future use and disposal.

Jayne Bradbury - Roy Merryweather - Steve Easterbrook

representing our club - gave an additional presentation of the proposal for the new site for Slough Town FC - Slough Boxing Club and the possible inclusion of the West Wing theatre group

To the scrunting committee - after lots and lots of vaid questions from scrunting, The proposal was given lots of time and lots of good comments and suggestions.

The proposal was recommended ! and now will be brought forward to the full cabinet meeting to be held at Slough Town Hall -

11th February 2008 at 6-30pm.

This has now established that the proposal is on reflection a good proposal - their are issues still to be sorted - however the first step is good and a forward one...

The council are recommendations are to proceed onto the next hurdle ---with a full cabinet backing on Monday will see us

turn a major corner .. The journey has begun... We still have a long way to go, and false dawns may still happen , but those of us that attended really felt that the time and place is right for Slough to begin its journey home...and with everyones backing we will go on to acheive this !

See you all at the town hall at 6-30pm Monday 11th Feb 2008.

Given that things have been going on quietly without too many fans getting involved in the process, I am not convinced that it would be a good idea for supporters to turn up in any sort of numbers to this meeting. Too much history with Stokes et al and I believe the Cabinet will be far less likely to be objective about the proposal should there be what they perceive to be a baying mob in the gallery.

They'll read the Officer report - which already contains the pros and cons, plus supposed take into account the recommendations of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee. Then they'll come to a decision or delay making one until further questions have been answered

BFR - baying for blood- I hope not..why when they are at last listerning to us and are very excited themselves about the project ... But this time would be nice to show support to the proposal... Jayne has asked for support and we can do this by being there on Monday...Our supporters have been excellant at previous meetings even when things have gone against us ...

so even if you dont want to go into the public gallery ..it would be nice to be there when the decision is made..and being able to talk to club officals and Jayne..would be nice too..

cheers chris s (personally)

I agree with the King that we do not want to go overboard and swamp the meeting with fans as that will distract the council and lead to other issues arising.

Keep the Status Quo with those who attended on the 7th - it looks like it is working!

PS I am winning the Euro Millions tonight and money wont be a problem!!!!

Dont get me wrong and I understand what you are saying and beliving..but also it is time to be there for the club, come along the solidarity is needed and also a show that we are not to be forgotten...as I stated come to the town hall after the councillors have entered the town hall , and remain outside until the decision is made , the officers of the club and Jayne will come out after the decision, would it not be nice to be there to show what Jayne has done for us ? We have never been so far down the road with a project she has put together...now is the time to shown thanks even if it gets turned down.
