Did anyone else have a twitter malfunction last night? I got the intial message that there would be updates but nothing more after that. Any ideas?

Hi Andy,

 

Seems that Twitter has a few probs lately. The Chelmsford twitter is also affected. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about this - we'll just have to hope that Twitter sort it out at their end.

 

For what it's worth, if the texts aren't arriving, all the updates DO still appear at http://twitter.com/btfc in a timely manner.

May be worth re-registering. That's what they're doing over on the soppybox. Haven't got around to trying it yet though, but I've had no updates from ours or Clarets for last two games.

My updates stopped sometime back in November. I re-registered and it did the trick as I've had not had any problems since.

Apparently, Twitter did a big systems upgrade at the end of Jan, and fallout from this could be the reason people are not receiving their texts (Some people occasionally had the problem before that, but it seems more widespread now).

 

I've just fixed mine by texting ON to the Twitter number (I had subscribed to BBCNEWS as a test and I'm now getting updates via text).

 

Here's what Twitter say:

 

"If Twitter doesn't receive a positive confirmation that your phone's network is communicating with ours, we turn off notifications to prevent messages from being sent into space. Try sending ON to turn notifications on again, which should fix the problem."

 

Doesn't seem ideal to me if it's gonna turn itself off periodically. Needs to be a bit more robust IMO.

Well - on Tuesday I got the first text then the subs one but not the first XI one ! Then got the goal and the HT but not the full time confirmation. However, four beaming Ricay fans entering the pub around 9.45 confirmed the result quite satisfactorily ...

 

Didn't get the test text, so i will try texting "ON" too.
