How many fans do you think we can get to Burton ?

I am going to do all I can on the MYFC website to try and get a good turnout .

York City took over 600 to Farsley Celtic in a crowd of 900.

Burton had 1,769 for the Histon game in the last round.

Just over 100 Fleet fans at Stafford at Christmas,

Do you think we can get 200 ? , Make some noise ?

How many thousands would want tickets if we got to Wembley ? , both new and old fans. I would hope a good number could get to Burton in the Quarter Final to help The Fleet.

I have been to the ground now on 2 occasions, both against Weymouth. We played much better in the league game, but we got the result in the cup game which is the most important think. The first game I watched from the side terrace and in the second I was near the drum. I love the chanting, made me feel 18 again. My first reaction when I saw the pitch and ground was, this is a proper ground. I look forward to getting there as many times as I can, and I look forward to a few away games in the north & midlands where I hope to make a bit of a row near the drum.

I would love it if we could get a good turnout at Burton.

If anyone wants to come on the minibus , please see me in my hut on Saturday or at Crawley away or Torquay away.

Not sure of cost yet but would be great to get 16 like we had for Dorchester . Minibus will leave the Shell garage at 09:00 to 09:30

Deposits required for those who havent travelled before.

I have received pm`s and emails about picking up on the way up. Due to logisitical reasons this is not possible at the moment.

I won't be at Burton because I will be in New York but I sincerely hope we get 100+ up there. Earlier on this year, we took about 30-40- to double/treble this and show the team there is a real presence in the ground would act as the cliched 12th man.

If any readers wanting a lift are MYFC members,

If you go to the Burton Albion thread on the MYFC site, easily found under LATEST, please post a request for a lift to the Burton Game,

eg

WANTED LIFT : 2 People from North London

or if you can offer a lift

LIFT OFFERED : 3 Places from NORTHAMPTON

You then might be able to make some arrangements with someboy who lives near you, or on your route to Burton.

Don't think that many people on here will be travelling from the Northampton area.

Fairly sure I am going. Looked into trains yesterday and it is £24 return from St Pancs.

Also need to source the York and Halifax matches as well as they will deffo be weekenders with ex uni mates. Will try and drag them along as well. One of them is a Walsall fan so he will appreciate seeing some good football!

There were no more than 20 of us there, it was a Tuesday night.

Don't book those Halifax tickets just yet Jeff, the second leg of the Trophy is scheduled for that day so that game may yet be rearranged.

Your opening post about how many would want a Wembley ticket overlooks the mindset of the majority of the local population. Yes, many would want to go to a Wembley final. They just couldn't be bothered to put themselves out for the tedious but rather necessary hard slog of all the previous rounds - including the quarter-final. It's called jumping on the bandwagon, but only a successful bandwagon you will understand.

I know that people jumping on the bandwagon are annoying to long-time supporters, but look at it in the light of an opportunity. A few of the bandwagon supporters are sure to be smitten by the experience and will become regular supporters. So instead of begrudging their lack of a history with the club, embrace them as the next wave of regular supporters. I'd much rather see a stadium full of excited fans than a ground 75% empty.

I know I'm going to be struck by lightning now because I'm usually the curmudgeon, but in this situation I have a hard time understanding the resentment expressed to anyone who wants to support the club, even if it's only for big fixtures.
