top notch performance ! the best by far this season..

it takes 2 teams to make a good match and Farnborough played their part in a great advert for this level of the game...

gutted of course we did not get anything from the game or did we ? a proud performance by all of the slough team , what more could we have asked for than that committment shown tonight ! superb Slough....

Excellent stuff from Slough played some quick counter attacking football summed up by what was a magnificient first goal. Farnborough are comfortable the best team we've seen this season and they impressed me in both games. It was one way traffic at their place but tonight they battled hard and were prepared to get the ball down and play and did create numerous chances. Hard to single people out. Terry waas outstanding. But second half stood behind the goal it was clear to see that Barney, Daly, Harper and Riddell put in some awesome performances and were defending desperately at times but with real grit.

Hope the lads are not too despondent because playing like that we have nothing to fear.

Incidentally thought the ref was really good and he has featured in the Premier League. Nice to see him sympathise with Barney at the end and I think you could tell he enjoyed being involved in what was a cracking game.

Best Slough performance of the season? A cracking game. Farnborough are without doubt the best teamm we have played this season, but we more than matched them for periods of the game.

OK it was a bit like the Alamo at the end - but for [****!!****] sake we deserved a draw! The commitment for the players cannot be faulted tonight and on that performance we won't be relegated.

Really disapointed with Farnborough support - yes, they brought loads but talk about quiet - only once they had won did they come to life.

Summed up what I like about non-league football. Well, it would have done if we'd won.

Good commitment throughout team. Terry Davies outstanding. Daly back to his best. Robinson good too. Farnboro fans backed their team well, said they rated us pretty highly and really enjoyed it. Terrible conditions. Horrible burger. Magic.

Apologies to those who had parking problems ...everything was against us last night - with all the rain we had ..just could not really use the overflow field last night...and the off road parking was difficult.. Just for note ..across the A355 they is quite a bit of off road parking..can I thank those supporters who helped the cars that were stuck in the field - all were rescued and for Kay waiting with her 4 x 4 to pull those out if they had really got stuck...

Only sold 109 programmes last night ..this is about a third of the crowd ..that buy programmes..so works out right.

cheers chris s....

still buzzing from the fantastic effort made by the Teams....

Agree with above ...the referee and his assistants were very very good...and made the game flow... well done to all...

Absolutely gutted not to come away with a point last night as must be the players. Difficult to nominate a MoM because

everyone of the starting eleven were superb.

I think Farnborough have strengthened their attack since we last played them with the inclusions of Wheeler, Bartley and Bubb but if they don't get promoted it will be down to their defence who looked decidedly shakey all night.

I think B&B have a massive job now trying to raise the players for Saturdays game where we must start to pick up points otherwise last night performance will mean absolutely nothing.

gutted Marcus and I couldn't make this (thanks for the updates Martin) we were praying to pull off the win of the season but sadly it wasn't to be. Great to hear about the level of commitment from players and improved playing standards on here though...bring on saturday.

simply put that was the best display I've seen from a Slough team since the 3-3 draw away at Yeading back in 2005. First goal was simply a stunning piece of play. BUT it's all very well and good getting motivated for the visit of a team at the top of the league but we're going to need to play with that level of commitment in every single game from here on out.

i really thought had we gone 3-1 up we would have won i really do. i was behind the goal and one curling effort from terry was saved and went just inches past abby who was following in on it

GUTTED is the only way to describe it

if we always put that much effort in we will surely stay up and with quite comfort

but full credit to farnborough they are a top top quality side

same to slough though for holding there own. some of our attacking play was top quality. still need a target man of sorts probably just to make it easier for davies

very few defensive mistakes if only we could say that more often

come on your rebels!!! lets pick up a win or 2 in the next couple of games

The players and management have now set the bar for the level of performance expected of them. A repeat of this for the remainder of the season will see us pull away from the bottom three.

Hopefully the lads can remove and disappointment from last night and put it right with three points on Saturday.

AWESOME!

Every single man, players and management, played out of their skins. Mention no one individually, they were all outstanding.

They should not be disappointed by this loss, but inspired and motivated by their achievement. If they want to be lifted for Saturday's game then read them the comments on this forum.

If Farnborough played like champions then we sure as hell played like runners up.

We showed guts, every player gave their all plus more.

We had defenders blocking with all they had, and some great diagonal passing to the strike force. Barny again, made some great passes. All in terrible conditions, especially during the second half.

The players should look back on this, not as a last second defeat, but as 90+ minutes of good teamwork and commitment.

If we keep that up for the rest of the season, then we will be more than ok.

Well done to all the team, Betts, and staff.
