Cabinet to consider proposals

Reading through to the timetable, the initial timetable has the stadium opening in March 2010 should everything pass through, building work starting in August next year.

Interesting reading, agree it is a bit complicated, but hopefully it will pass through the next stage.

Interesting document. The council officers saying Slough Council will be effectively funding us because the council will be getting reduced amount of money by selling the site to the club(but obviously if there is an economic downturn and property prices fall this will be less). They can sell it to us if we fulfill the 'well-being' criteria - which we will do, especially if we are run as a proper community club involving all ages playing football and bringing in lots of other sports clubs such as the boxing club.

There's also the issue of the West Wing, which the officers want to move to a more central location (Heart of Slough development?)but will probably stay put for the meantime. I think it would be great to have it there with the football club as the whole site then becomes a place in Slough where loads of things are going on.

It all hinges I think on whether councillors feel the club is competent enough to handle all this!

it actually looks quite positive with a lot of work being done to present the proposals. Would be a good positive to keep the west wing arts centre on site as well as someone said the boxing club and some affordable housing, and with the allotments next door the whole area would have a community feel to it.

i like allotments grin
