as many as 3 - WOW.

its so easy to put a bid to tender to 15-30 different companies. seems that some1 in myfc have made their decision & thats what we r gonna get.

btw, bigger companies don't need 6 month lead time, not sure who told you they do.

We vote yes or no but that is about it.

Jeff these two votes were always going to be take-it-or-leave-it votes and were always flagged as such. The responsibility for the putting of proposals to the membership lies with the MyFC Board - who ahve yet to be elected. The 'operator' has had to take the lead on a small number of issues, within the rules of the Society, as a matter of urgency and these two votes are the result. If the same situation pertains to the decision making process in a years time I will be standing beside you making one hell of a stink.

So two of the most important decisions have in fact already been made for the members, they just have to rubber stamp them. I can't remember these votes as being flagged as take it or leave it votes all the time. Maybe the club one, but not the shirt.

The operator may of had to make a small number of decisions, but they are two of the biggest
1. Which club
2. Who makes the kit - one of biggest income streams for the club. I'd rather have 100% mark up than 35% - this would of been achievable if it had been handled correctly.

This is what I am thinking as well Matty.

Decisions are made and then rubber stamped by MyFC members.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with future votes.

Personally, I am extremely worried that there seems to be no proper voting strategy in place. Thr concept does not seem to have been tested at all.

I think that MyFC are trying to run before they can walk. All well and good if in a beta environment but we seem to have signed a shirt deal on whim rather than debating it which I thought was the point of all this. The decisions taken in apparent chaos are affecting us already.

Matty, read my signature. It has been there since day one!

hmm, and the matter was brought to vote on 5th Feb, how on earth were Nike to recieve an answer before the end of Jan, maybe they already had their answer before it even went to be rubber stamped by the membership!!

So after talking to one or two other companies it was decided that all companies would be the same? Who is running MYFC & do they really have a clue about running a large company? I think not. If they don't, they should not be making these sort of decisions. It can't be about time, all you have to do is write the same letter to each company stating what you are looking for, and asking them to submit their proposal.

I have no problem with Nike making the kit even though it would be like 15th and 16th kit change in 8 years I do think that ever since the take-over has been finalised, the guys at MYFC seem to be rushing through all their proposals which I am a bit iffy

Personally I think we should do what Ipswich Town done and change one kit to their new kit suppliers (In Ipswich's case Mitre) and leave the away kit as it is. That way us fans don't need to splash out so much cash

If we do go ahead with the Nike deal then we'll need to stay with them for the whole contact and not opt out after the first year. We need to stay loyal to the deal

If the Nike deal is rejected then we could end up with a situation of not having a new kit deal for next season, Jako still not supplying the old one and the club losing up to £100,000 this year. Also other companies would be aware of the fact that Nike were out of the picture and try and drive down the terms of the deal (remember they are in business to make as much profit as possible). MyFC is an unknown entity in terms of the potential market of the membership. It looks likely that some companies were unwilling to take a punt on the deal.

There have been three votes in three weeks - one to takeover EUFC - one to facilitate Liam Daish's plans in the transfer window - one on the Nike deal. Given the deadline of the transfer window there was time constraints and the same applied to Nike.

chris, and others, just a point about your margin calculations. You're comparing apples and oranges.

With the Jako deal, you're getting a 95% margin by calculating from the wholesale price. As someone pointed out earlier, it's roughly 47% of the retail price.

With the Nike royalty offer of up to 35%, the percentage is taken from the retail price.

The Jako margins are still higher, but we run the risk of Jako's continued incompetence in supplying merchandise and the Fleet take all the marketing costs and risks.

We get a smaller margin with Nike, but incur no up-front costs or risk, a fuller line of merchandise, and an online shop that actually works.

Like everyone else, I'm not thrilled with the away strip choices, but the deal overall seems a useful one for the Fleet. I actually hope neither side opts out after the first year because I recognize how many strips the fans have been asked to buy and a little stability would be nice for a change.

I voted for home stip #1 and haven't made my mind up yet on the away strip. I prefer #3 but won't vote for it because of the Gills association. I'll probably vote for #2 as the least objectionable of the three.

Shame there wasn't a vote on whether to have a new strip at all

In practical terms, this IS just such a vote. A NO decision means no new deal. I'll be massively surprised if the deal is rejected, but a rejected deal is the same as a vote for no new kit.

Who authorised him to do that? Is he the owner of he MYFC Society? Is he the owner of the Fleet?

The "operator" ie Willy the Brook (or is his name Crook, I forgot?) has only one role - to negotiate the takeover of the Club. Negotiating the kit for the next 3 seasons certainly has nothing to do with the takeover. He has no right to take the lead, although I allow that the sheeps may follow him nevertheless.
