MyFC to vote on new Nike kit for next season...

Home kits are red, the first a bit like this season's, the second more all-over red, the third more like the Austrian Airlines kit.

Away kits are (look away now traditionalists!!) green and white halves, white with red trim and Inter Milan-style blue and black stripes.

Some more details

From Will Brooks

Having spoken to Jessica McQueen and Chris Pilkinton (who help run the club shop and are members of the Fleet Trust) and the club’s former directors, the consensus is that a new kit manufacturer is needed to ensure demand is met and that the club doesn’t miss out on vital income. With the right merchandise partner and supply, it’s conceivable that sales of replica and other club clothing could increase 1000%.

From Nike

We believe that the benefits of this proposal for Ebbsfleet United are:

- All staffing and operational costs relating to club shop and online sales will be financed by Nike.

- Members will choose the designs of the home and away shirt.

- A wide range of Nike club crested training & leisure products will also be available to fans and members.

- Club shop website updated and maintained by Nike.

- All online orders serviced, packaged and distributed by Nike.

- Club shop at the stadium upgraded.

We have also agreed to do the following for the club at no cost:

- Supply the first team squad with an allowance for new training kit for the remainder of this season.

- Supply the first team squad with 2008/09 season playing kit (typically long & short sleeved home and away jerseys, shorts & socks), match travel wear (track suits) and an allowance for training gear.

- The Nike Boot Bus will visit the training ground and the first team squad will test a selection of boots and be given one pair of their choice.

Taking replica shirts as an example, for every replica shirt bought, the club would receive up to 35% of the net sale. This would be pure profit for the club. If 30% of members buy a replica shirt, or another item of similar value, the club would receive a six-figure sum in royalties. Members will be able to view a monthly retail sales analysis showing overall online and club shop sales, with a break down by some of the best selling items, on an ongoing basis.

We hope you will appreciate that this is something of a step into the unknown for us and predicting the levels of sales cannot be an exact science. As such, at this time we cannot commit to providing a kit allowance for Ebbsfleet United's ladies and its youth teams (of which we are told there are around 20) next season. However, we will pledge to provide one full kit per team every 250 sales of replica shirts (or equivalent).

Someone with the know-how can post the images of the proposed kit.

It amazes me that such a well established company such as Nike can design such a boring home kit. If possible I will chose the option that says make them design another three to chose from.

The only away kit I actually like is the white one - and continues our theme of variation. The other two, well, we might as well actually be Hibernian or Inter Milan. How unoriginal and disappointing.

I actually like the style one home kit and style two away kit.

We might as well take advantage of the situation whilst it is being offered, new training kits and a pair of boots for every first team player. SWEET!!.

My only concern is the fleet trust losing out from this deal, as Nike will handle all purchases online, and obviously will take their cut of the profits from the club shop.

Given that due to time constraints and no other company seeming to put in an offer(umbro maybe being took over by nike) ,i decided to vote for the nike deal,3 year deal with a mutual opt out after one year.

In terms of design maybe not the most fancy which to me is not a bad thing don't like to much flippery on strips,i don't have a problem with any of the home strips .

the away strips not too sure green/white is a no no for any hearts fan would not buy that, the white one a bit to much of an england strip for my taste/bias (dark blue much better) So had to go for the striped away strip ,think there should have been a yellow away option.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

Gillingham. No no NO!

Cleanse the earth of the blue shirts my voting puppies...

Just Shows my lack of knowledge of the local area would then go for the england style top ,but would have to put up with people thinking i was a rangers fan up here.

I'd have picked 1 and 2 as well, but there's no way I'm buying either.

I've spoken at length both here and on the myfc forum about how I feel this is screwing the fans over with these 2 kits being about our 14th and 15th new kit in 8 years?

Out of the kits shown, the 1st looks similar to our current top and the 2nd away loooks like the England rugby top. The 1st away top also looks like a rugby top and as has been said above, the 3rd away looks like a Gills top.

I'll just stick to my old tops, shows everyone who the real fans are

interesting point and indeed I could put the trust in touch with a kit manufacturer close to you down there who would be quite keen to stock the shop..set you up on line purchasing software and arrange similar deals as the one outlined above....the 35% sounds okay on face value but 35% of what...? a replica fully loaded shirt should cost no more than a fiver and sells at say 25/30 quid...

in my opinion also... a club with a potential shirt/kit/clothing sale volume such as fleet now could also demand and get a substantial up front payment from the supplier...is there one from Nike and if there is where is it going to...?

too many questions...where's wanchai... grin

I like the home strip 1, mainly as its the nearest to the current strip, the other 2 look a bit Man Utd to me.

I asked on the MYFC site how the choice was made for the 3 away strips. I dont fancy green, I think under lights it isnt so easy to see, well thats what LCFC said when we played in green and were crap. Strip 2, dont like reverse strips, I like a 2nd strip to be a contrast. Red shirts white shorts v white shirts red shorts, no thanks. Strip 3 I thought was ok, until reading the Gillingham comments. I like yellow, but I know nothing else with the Fleet.

I think we should have seen the whole strip, shirts, shorts, socks, then maybe the strips would look quite different.

eg, what colour shorts would go with the green /white top ?

agreed...thats a good shout for a change yorkie... grin

now a few more awkward questions for you all I am afraid to say...

have other kit manufacturers been offered the opportunity to bid for this contract...or is there some nike connection with pipers/brooks here..?

what will happen to the current fleet trust income from the shop..?

does MyFc Ltd get any of the proceeds from kit sales or commissions as a result of volume..?

According to MYFC they were approached by Nike ,myfc also talked with 3 other suppliers ,2 of which could not produce an offer in the time frame the other stated they could not meet the august deadline .

maybe uncle you should have gave your contacts to the club.
