What are the chances ........

of breaking into the payoff places this weekend ?

With a fair wind, 3 points by beating Redbridge will put us on 49 pts. (1 pt over Redbrige)

 

But, also on Saturday Enfield Town play Maldon. An Enfield win would put us straight into the playoff positions IF we beat Redbridge.

 

Our goal differnce is top 4 stuff, and we've at least a game in hand over our rivals.

 

Sudbury also play Dartford. So, we could make some real ground this weekend.

 

Quite exciting really.

 

How does this compare with last season ? Was it only at season end where we had the opportunity of nicking it - or did we breifly hit the payoff spots and lose form ?

Last season we had a terrible run and only picked up 21 points from our last 15 games starting from 6/2.

 

If we only picked up 21 points from our remaining games ( not going to happen ) we would end up with the same points total as last season.

 

67 points was the enough for the last play-off spot last season but i think we will need a few more this season to be certain.

We were 3rd or 4th last season up until March but then fell away badly after that Wakering game. I think we lost 5 of our last 9 games!!!

 

Stangely enough considering the top two probably won't attain as many points as Hornchurch and Harlow last year, we will probably need around 75-80 points to make a play off place!!!

 

Certainly more bunched together than last season. Is this season's division a better standard or are the poor teams getting worse?
