Just a few points, the pitch, this is non-league football your not going to be getting highbury like pitches every week. Also i'm pretty sure theres some sort of reason for not rolling the pitch.

 

Also the Sutton team that played yesterday were not the strongest and did not play completly to their ability. We had no Matt Fowler, Lewis Gonsalves due to injury, Scott Corbett hasn't been playing much recently and who did you get past for one of your goals. Eddie, a wing back, if Lewis had been playing it just wouldn't of happened. Of course the better team won it just wasn't against our best team.

 

One more thing, how many Canvey fans saw the two handed shove on Danny Hodges, it had to be a penalty!

 

Anyway thats me done, we'll probably do you a favour be beating Aldershot on easter monday who aren't very good at beating Sutton at GGL.

To be honest for a former Conference club, I expected your pitch to be a lot better.

 

Anyway good luck against Aldershot. I think you could make life very difficult for them.

Whoops! I've upset somebody. To be honest Jared most of your supporters were alright, it was just one or two idiots that spoilt it. The guy on your website was out of order as well. Let's just forget about this.

I don't want to get into a slanging match with anyone but at the end of the day, it's all banter.

Couldn't see anything on our website or in the programme anti-Canvey/Essex really, whether or not it has been taken down is one thing, but the statement, could mean any number of things.

No, the webmaster of the official site has deleted the offending sentence since last night. He probably realised that it was out of order. I don't suppose an apology will be forthcoming, but at least he knows he got it wrong and has done something to correct it.

The official website doesn't have a discussion board, nor does it have any contact details for the webmaster. Otherwise I would have posted my anger direct to the person responsible.

At least on the Canvey website Matt, Ian and I post our names under everything we write and we have contact details for just about everyone at the club. If I say anything that fans want to disagree with they know they can have their say by contacting me direct at mervyn@canveyfc.com.

I did try chip_on_my_shoulder@suttonfc.com but it bounced back. Well done to the unofficial site. At least you are prepared to stick your own head above the parapet.

I wouldn't worry to much about the offcial website at Sutton (www.suttonunited.co.uk), it's cr@p, no-one at Sutton pays much attention to it anyway, so that's why i didn't know about any offensive stuff.

I don't know about Sutton being the poshest club in the league but they must be the only ones with geriatric hooligans. Funny how they melted away after our second goal, maybe their residential home has an early curfew.

Look, we're sorry we don't get to choose our fans, if supporting Sutton in the ways they do is what they like to do then what right do you have to insult them. Not everyone has to be 'normal' it just happens a fair few support Sutton.

If so, you probably encountered the only section of our support that can bloody remember them happening!

 

As for the match, we were a couple of players short. I thought we did ok in the first half, but just didn't/couldn't step it up after the break.

 

I don't think we actually played particularly defensively. Rains always plays the 3-5-2 type formation. It's just with using a forward as the left 'wingback' & a 20 year old player from the ressies making his 2nd appearance on the right, they didn't get as far forwards as we'd have liked.

 

To be honest, I thought it was destined for a 0-0 at HT. I mean, you guys hadn't exactly taken the game by the scruff of the neck up to then. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
